This guy is quoting me 250 US to ship these heads.

Sounds like hes making money on it to me..... Anyone get heads shipped before? Especially north of the border?  I cant see it costing that much via UPS.

That does seem high lets say they are 40lbs each . They would need to go in 2 boxes at a cost of $56 each U.S. mail

Ask him or just estimate what they weigh. Go to UPS.com and get the rate for shipping. I make my living shipping stuff I sell on Ebay. I ship pool liners that weigh up to 95 pounds. They usually run between $55 and $85 each to ship.  Some areas are a bit more expensive. I would also keep in mind that he will have to pack them pretty well to make them safely shippable. I would add for packaging materials. Believe it or not they can add up.

I recently had a fellow bidder on E-Bay, who lost a parts lot to me, ask me if I could part with a few pieces of it. I said, no problem, I'll just UPS them when they get here. He told me that UPS charges an additional fee of $50, per package, regardless of size or weight to ship into Canada.

Even with a $50 ser Charge that sounds a little steep.

The post office told me once the shipping to Canada is 2x what it would cost to send it anywhere in the USA. Other than cost there is just a small form to fill out.

jaak

well if he used the shipping calculator ebay provides it figures it really high. I sold a fellow in canada one right hand quarter panel extension, I used the ebay calculator and it said it would be 18 bucks to ship, well dude pays me through paypal, I go to post office next morning to ship and actual cost to canada from alabama was 3.85. I sent him an email telling him what happened then refunded him 14 bucks, he was sure happy about that. I would check again that does sound awful pricy to me. good luck

Thread, is the $250.00 US dollars? I shipped a intake and carb to Beliguim a few month's ago and ran $52.00. I have shipped 906 head's here in the states and ran $62.00 and that was before the gas went sky high as well.

My experience is if you can ship postal do it. UPS brokerage fees into Canada are ridiculous. If the parts are used have the seller mark that on the shipping documents and post office customs will usually only charge sales tax.

2 Alum. heads packed well in the same box should not be a problem. Try different shippers including Grey Hound.. Many don't know that they ship large and heavy things reasonably...
