Hooked On Mopars

I recently retired from the Air Force after 20 1/2 years. Lowes was one of the stores that I applied to since I know some people that work for the company and they recommended it as a good place to work. So...I filled out the application, called the HR Department to follow up and was told to come in for an initial interview. Everything went well, took all of the management type tests, and was told that they would call me if they had further interest. Three days later they called me, informed me that I did excellent on the tests, and scheduled me for an interview with the Store Manager. Went to the interview and was told half way through that I would definitely be meeting with the District Manager. I was worried that they would think that I wasn't qualified for the Zone Manager position, but instead the District Manager informed me that I was over qualified and wants to hire me as the Operations Manager, #2 guy in the store, and would like to give me my own store in a year or two. Everything has went well, but my biggest question is how much $$$? They made me a very good offer, which I counter offered, but still would like to get an idea if the $$$ is right. Don't want to accept the offer and later regret it if the position was worth more. I talked to the Store Manager that interviewed me and he told me that I am starting at what a Store Manager usually starts at, and that his experienced Operations Manager makes around $15K less than what I would. I would appreciate any input.
