I found this on another site and thought I would share!  For those of you not aware, The Somernites Cruise is coming to our area for a Power Tour. Unfortunately I will not be taking my Mopar as I was asked to help escort the tour with our department's 9/11 show cruiser. This may get a little long but I wanted to make sure you guys have all the details. This event is held in Somerset Ky on the 4th saturday of each month (www.somernitescruise.com). This month they are sending 3 teams of representatives out and one of the teams is coming to our area. On Friday July 21 they will be attending the Cruise-In at the Steak and Shake in Milford Ohio. Then on Saturday morning July 22 anyone interested in participating in the Power Cruise will meet in the I-75 southbound rest area in Florence Ky between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. From there the tour will drive as a caravan to Somerset. This is going to be huge. Gil Russell, one of the reps called me yesterday and said they have been getting calls from clubs as far away as Lake Erie Ohio. They are expecting as many as 300 cars to participate on our leg of the tour. If the Florence rest area fills up as they expect, the overflow will be taken to the I-75 weigh station just south of Florence. The caravan could be as long as 5 miles long and there will be television stations and possibly ESPN horsepower filming the route. As we travel south we will pick up additional participants in Georgetown, Lexington and Berea. Upon arrival to Somerset a free lunch is provided for all who drove in the tour. Last but not least I was informed that they are trying to get at least 50 Mopars to participate in an open house at a Dodge/Chrysler dealership. Allegedly a bunch of VIP's from Mopar will be in attendance and they want to film a commercial to be broadcast nationwide along with a magazine story. If you are interested in the open house PM me and I'll give you the contact number for the guy I spoke with. Hope to see some of you- I'll be in the red/white and blue FORD crown vic up near the front--look me up, Ron

Where were you last week? :( Unfortunately, I happen to have other plans for that whole weekend or I'd be there in a heartbeat! I hope you guys have fun and be sure to take lots of pictures.

Power Cruise.

Not to be confused with the Hot Rod Power Tour.
