if I had to pick one I pick 1966. It is by far the best year, hands down.

Oh yeah, and unlike the other years, first gens don't need R/T emblems to be cool.

Quick, somebody get this man medical attention.  :yesnod:

BTW, I have never seen a 68-70 Charger that needed R/T badges to make it look badass. The looks alone give it that. You do know there's a reason people can't give away their 66/67 Chargers....right?  :icon_smile_wink:

I'll take badass/ greatest muscle car ever built (68-70), over functionality, options, and whatever else you think the '66 has over it. Oh, just my  :Twocents::nana:

Not one 70 comment?  You feeling OK? ;)

66-67 was the 1st Generation... the ALPHA male of the group, so you can't really call it the Step-Child when it's actually the original Father. It's more like the Old Geezer that no one pays any mind too... until he puts his foot down that is... always Respect your Elders.

in my opinion the 66-67 chargers lend themselves to being modded far better than any other year of the charger :Twocents:  they look better with the big tires, lowered suspension etc than the rest do the 68-70 just looks do killer the way it was built!!! :Twocents:

Its not an El Camino, Its not a Ranchero. So do we call it a Moparo? :smilielol:

Well, I've thought about doing something like that with a Coronet station wagon.

And you have the coolest color, bronze right?  Love that color.

I kind of like it myself.  :icon_smile_big:  Of course, I thought he said once he was considering going to metallic silver and that is probably even better.  :D

Yep, it was originally T5 Copper (or bronze as my name says haha). It wears mostly primer but the T5 is still visable on the whole roof, the hood, the cowl, the door jams, the unside of the trunklid, top of the driver's quarter and around the gas cap. And yes, Ghoste is right...its going silver.

Okay, maybe I'll put it this way. I drive my '68 Charger R/T for other people's enjoyment. I drive my '66/'67 Chargers for my enjoyment. Which is why I drive the '66/'67's a LOT more than the '68 R/T. I've only had the '68 out once this year. To me the '66/'67s are just a way more fun car to drive.

The poll I don't think can really count for anything except the number of users with each year of car because each person is going to be biased to which year of car they happen to own, unless the person owns multiple years or generations, and then they can really get a better fairing on what they like. For example I've never owned a third generation, although I would like to. So I say the '66 is my favorite but how can I know since I've never owned a '71 R/T...? If I did, I might like it the best, who knows. I just know I have owned 4 '66's, 1 '67, and 1 '68 R/T and I like them in that order.

Just check out these lines...

I really need a bumper sticker that says "ONCE YOU GO FASTBACK..."

I have to say that I own both a '71 and now a '69. I am a 2nd gen fan first but my favorite one will always be a '68. I ran around in one that my buddy Troy had back in High School and was hooked ever since. The pic is of that '68 and Troy back in High School. I just love the front grill, the tail light's and the side markers.

I was looking for a '68 when I got the '71. I was looking for a '68 when I recently got the '69. I would have been fine with a '70 had I found one since it's my 2nd favorite.

The thing is, both the cars I do have are very nice and desirable cars too. I admire each one for different reasons. I have no intention of parting with either one. Will I ever get that '68? Who know's. I'm just happy to have what I have and will work hard to keep'em up always.

Death1970Proof

Im big into the '68 and then the 1970 models. Followed by the '69 ....The '68's are gorgeous cars- from the tai lights to the markers. I love the open grille on the both the 1968 and 1970.  1970's not as popular and not as done as much-it seems everyone wants a '69. I like about all chargers from 66'-74 . Im still convinced that a 1974 is the last real charger. New ones have 2 many doors.
"Remember when I said this car was death proof? Well that wasnt' a lie-this car is 100%death proof- only to get the benefit of it honey you really need to be sitting in my seat"...
