What to expect to pay for 68 Charger R/T 4 speed

Hello all looking to pick up a 68 Charger R/T four speed car in a good color, does not need to be concours just a correct #2 car/#3 for cruise nights and terrorizing. What is a a typical ball park for these cars? Thanks in advance.

Since it's a 4-speed car, you'll pay more.. If it's a real nice car, I would say the value is about 35 to 45K, again, for a nice car.. If it's REAL nice, I would expect more than 50K.........

Man, if I could find a 68 Hemi 4-speed for $65k I'd sell everything I owned plus half of my friends' stuff.

The hemi Charger prices have gone up quite a bit lately.  I would expect it to be closer to $100,000 to be in a second gen hemi Charger that can move under its own power.......

Looks like $35,500 for a R/T with automatic. . so add another $10,000 for a 4-speed. = $45,500.

Here is a non-R/T 4-speed car.  Bid is at $11,500.  If you just want a driver buy this one, stick another $5000 into it to clean it up, buy some R/T emblems for it and get cruising!

'68 HP motors had the VIN stamped on the rear bellhousing flange, near the oil pressure sending unit.  That means all R/T cars would have a VIN stamped on their engines.  383 4bbl cars would too, but anything 383 2bbl or under would not.  It didn't have anything to do with the time the car was built, that I know of.  In 1969, there were some differences - the earlier cars had the full VIN stamped, whereas later on they just stamped the last eight digits.

P.S.  I'd say a $65k price on a nice condition numbers-matching 4-speed '68 would be a STEAL at today's levels... Sad to say that, but it's true...

I have been offered 45k for mine,and turned it down....non matching motor,but it is a '68 440,and the original four speed is there,along with a Dana 60. I think the prices will be on the rise for a while yet,not that I really care....but,if a crazy high offer came my way,I would have to entertain the thought......the cost of restoration is rising every day too,so it ain't cheap to find a hulk and go from there either....
There are a few deals left out there....you have to really search,and be the first one there......good luck.

i have a Early 68 hp 440 motor with no vin # stamped on it. i was told when i bought it that it came from a 68 charger r/t and i believe the guy. he's always been honest with me . Rene
