buying new ones.

i have seen some with the word charger
then some with the charger and base arrow emblem together.

which one is correct for a 68 r/t

The plain Charger script is correct. The arrow was a pre-production item seen in the flyers. It has been replicated by a few on production cars because they like the look.

It may be one of those left over from 67 things as the 1st gens all had the script and the arrow.  They often had previous years items on early cars that they were slapping together for brochure photos and stuff.

Again, pre-production items. These things were changed when they when they went into full production.

I have seen pics of a couple of early production 68's untouched and they had the 67 emblem on it.

I have a 69, built 8-9-68 it had the 68 shifter knob, and the 68 black door handle buttons before I dissassembled it.  Alot of times "left over" parts were used up before the new parts were put to use.
