That was a ball stud Hemi, an experimental engine that is a one of three ever built and the only surviving one left. A custom crank had to be made along with gaskets and other parts to complete the motor. There is a complete story on it in the July Mopar Colllectors Guide.

I had a dent in that fender from when I had a buddy of mine helping me put the motor and trans in.  He leaned on the fender a little too much, so I had the paintless dent remover guys set up at Carlisle get most of it out. It looks much better now.
BTW your friends 68 loooks awesome, great color!!!

So someone finally got around to putting it in a car then?  Cool engine never-the-less.

Pic #60 is a guy I know from Hyde Park...  the 69 340 Cuda.   I haven't actually seen his car all put together and running since he took it as a painted roller from Speedo's shop over 3 years ago.    Everytime there's a show around here he never has it.   I probably have some pics of it in primer or baremetal somewhere.
