correct color of rear axle u-bolts and nuts?

After doing a lengthy search, I ended up going to 69hemi.com's website and was looking at his rear axle resto.  I can not tell from the pics what the color of the rear axle u-bolts and nuts should be.  They almost look like a zinc phosphate or natural steel color.  Am I correct in assuming it is either of the two?

all i do is de grease them   and  then clear lacquer them
