Fender Tag Question (3rd Gen.)

I have a question about my fender tag.  I have a couple of unknown codes (M2G and 28).  Also, I have the V1W code for a vinyl top and the code V08, which says vinyl top delete when I run it through.  Another thing is the G35 code which "deletes standard outside mirror"  What side would that be, passenger? At this point I'm totally confused.  Can anyone shed some light on this?

G35 is an optional outside chromed remote mirror.  This is also why you have a delete "standard" mirror code.  Are you sure it's M2G and not M26, which would be wheel lip moldings?  M28 is a front bumper periphery but I have no clue what that is.
Not sure on the vinyl top delete code.  I think it can also delete some other paint and trim items so it may not apply to the top but I don't know.  V1 calls out a full top, is your car a model which would have had a half top as standard?

The "28" refers to a 28 inch radiator.

What codes does M2G follow? If it follows another M code with a number smaller than 26, M2G probably is M26 wheel well moldings.

G35=LH outside remote chrome racing mirror
28= 28 inch radiator
V08 means paint, stripe or trim waiver. It usually signifies a color combination that was not recommended by the factory but made anyway. What is your ouside color? The top is a full white vinyl top correct? What is the interior trim color? Any stripe colors?

Do you mean you thought they quit making them before '73 or started making them after '73? I have seen several '74 400 cars with 28" radiators.

I thought they came out in 74, how far back do they go?

In my parts interchange manual there are various 28" radiators listed for 318,340, 400, and 440 with max cooling, 400 and 440 w/AC, and 400 and 440 w/o AC in 1973.

I don't see any prior to 1973 listed.

My paint code is JY3.  Yes, it is a full vinyl top.  The interior code is E6L3 which is parchment, correct?  It has pinstriping down the side of the car (V7W).

The M2G is actually M26, damn thick paint  ;)

With my color of interior, how would it break down?  Color of door panels etc. The upper panels look like they could have been white at one time, with off-white hard lower door panels.

I'm not the best with colors but I don't see anything that would trigger a V08 code. :shruggy:

You may want to try and find a 73 data book that would show recommended combinations.

The front bumper periphery is a small [maybe 1/4"] molding that goes across the leading edge of the hood, and the leading edge of both fenders.
A sort of Dress up item.

I don't have access to a '73 data or color/upholstery book, but I'll bet that the white vinyl roof is what caused the edit.  A parchment vinyl roof was probably recommended with the parchment interior.  My Dad had a JY3 '73 Imperial with the parchment vinyl roof and parchment leather...nice combination.

73ChargerSE

Does anyone have any pictures of what a parchment interior should look like?
