Back on topic, the alternative fuels are a great idea if they are available in your area. I wouldn't buy another car just because of it (costs more than gas) but if I already had one I'd be looking to utilize it as much as possible.

Troy

This thread sure went south.  The topic was about cars already in use, that can use E85.  The CBS news report, I saw, was done from Las Wages.  Gas was around $3.00/ga and the E85 was around $1.85.  Was just trying to inform, not insight.

I think I agreed with you.(?) If I already owned one I would try it out and see how the performance compared to regular fuel. I'm not going to rush out and buy one though.

I don't think I hijacked the thread - I was just responding.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Well, conspiracy theorists kind of have a reason to disbelieve that the government wants to help cure things when the prices of medicines and insurance rates have skyrocketed like they have.  Believe it or not, people DO DIE because of lack of money for medicine or medical procedures.  That just shouldn't be happening in this day and age.

I did go to the web page on E85, but didn't read the whole thing, I admit.  Sounds like an idea, tho.

As for lightbulbs --

QuoteIt kills me that everyone thinks recycling and alternative fuels are sooo much better than the way things are done. Sure, recycling cleans the environment a bit (not significantly) but here's just one example: it takes MORE energy to recycle a lightbulb than the energy that lightbulb will use over it's lifetime - great advantage right?

They rig those things to blow at a certain time, man!  I kid you not!  I replace 4 lightbulbs in my house, and then they all go out at approximately the same time.  I remember years ago, they lasted much longer!  So maybe we should be kickin G.E. ?? LOL!

Old Moparz

I don't need any alternative fuel for my old Mopars. They either don't run, don't have a motor, or they're off the road because I need to fix something else. Boy, am I saving money right now!  :D

Well you dont have to be a conspiracy theorist to know the REAL reason gas is so expensive, which is....Gas refineries are at 90% capacity for making gas. And WHY haven't we built a gas refinery in this country in the last 20 years??????????????? Ask your Tree hugging environmentalist whacko Sierra club loving Senators why.
Gas is 7$ a gallon in the UK, most of it is taxes, and you aint seen nothin yet, wait untill these commie enviro terrorists (Earth Liberation Front, Greenpeace, etc,) get there Kyoto treaty passed in the USA. The Global Warming treaty will destroy our economy and your Charger will be crushed with a legislative mandate to smash EVERYTHING with a carb/open tank vent system, that means a non fuel injected car for those of you in Rio Linda. :icon_smile_big:

1. AIDS: stop engaging in high risk behavior. Don't have unprotected sex (or any sex at all) and don't share needles when doing drugs.

Holy crap, man, I've been all but lynched for saying that same thing.  Keep sex within marriage, (that means be patient and wait until you're married, and for crying out loud, DON'T cheat on your spouse!), and not just AIDS, but ALL STDs would become extinct within a single generation.  But, noooo, people gotta screw like cats...and in between that, they gotta ostracize the guy who suggested the use of common sense.

As far as gas prices, I do find it weird that people complain about that so much more than anything else.  My theory is that it's because of the demonization of the "faceless oil corporations."

I side with Silver in the natural cures thing. Take cancer for example, it can't exist in an acidic environment. All you have to do is get your body pH level lower than 7, and it'll destroy any cancer. People who don't believe there are cures for this kind of stuff don't realize the money generated from it. This world is all about money, not helping one another. I know of a Chinese herb shop who sells cures for AIDS too, and they work (I was told), and are natural.

thanks for backing me up on here, usually most everyone hates me. Is it because Im german? lol Im just kidding, im not german, but theres funny store behind that one. If I get enough requests I might post it lol.

I wanna here it.....post it up.

Don't mean to send this thread south again, but Recharger, what would make more money, curing someone once and for all, or giving them temporary cures keeping them coming back for more?

I heard about that 100mpg carb. I also read in a magazine about 4 years ago that the guy was killed (off) in a car accident, and his shop with all the plans somehow caught fire and burned down. Hmmm coincidence? BTW, german scientists successfully created synthetic fuel back in WWII......the plans were hidden away and the scientists killed. It's not a conspiracy theory, it's the truth.

I read today that in Caracas, Venezuala they had the lowest gas prices in the world back in Septempber 2000, at a mere 40 US cents per gallon. I think Oslo, Norway was the highest, at $5.48 US a gallon. London was next highest, with Paris and others following.

I wouldn't mind moving to Venezuela and driving my Charger around there... :drive: ...althought the cost of living might be significantly less than what it is here. I wonder which city has the best fuel prices based on their local cost of living estimates?

I don't think most everyone hates you. You just have a big mouth, say lots of poignant things, and take offense too easily.

:flame: Build more nuclear power plants. Old weapons are generating electricity. The pollution generated is still in the plants where the power is generated. A typical fuel assembly is 12 feet tall and 18" square.

Well, I don't hate you!

I feel there's some truth to some of what you've said.  If people can make money over saving people, they tend to do just that.

I'm surprised more people haven't gone John Q.  Personally, I'm feeling very close to that state of mind .....

I don't think docs and insurance guys are tryin' to get rich off misfortunes.... I think its year one, everytime I've ordered something, when I call its twice as high as in the latest catalog.... and they 'cob' you on shipping too.... you pay 20 bux for shipping that probably actually cost 7-8.  lol.
....or everyone with a orange 68 69 70 charger that's orange with a 1 on the doors, lol.

After driving my 2002, V-10, F-250, Super Duty, Crew Cab, GAS EATING MONSTER to my doctors office in Tampa, (36 miles away), I had a conversation with another patients husband. It started with something said on MS NBC. Anyway, long story short, he tells me that his boss is from Brazil. The boss says that Brazil DOES NOT buy fuel from anyone or anywhere else. Says the cars are run on corn alcohol,(I think), and all trucks are run on Veggie oil...

I am one of those guys that likes the idea of using both of these fuels.. NOT to say that I think EVERY vehicle HAS to conform to this. I just think it makes some sense.. Farmers are just waiting for some profits from their land. Bush kind of put an end to FOOD FOR FUEL.. From what I have been reading diesels run rather well on Veggie oil...

I think this would produce more NEEDED jobs IN AMERICA and at the same time redice emitions.

Having a wreck with Veggie Oil would be slick.. ;D   OK, that was corny.. I for one have been thinking about going back to a diesel and paying very little to drive it.. There are plenty of fast food and Chinese joints around here that PAY to get rid of their used fry grease..   There is even a club here in St. Pete that have been driving for little to nothing since 1999.....

They make a good argument..

I live in iowa, and Ethanol is a primary gas source that we make. I personally dont like useing it any anything. I have a older chevy suburban for plowing and it backfires on it, one of my chargers is starting to do it to. Plus, iv'e noticed on alot of newer vehicles that run it, they have a really nasty fume smell to them. I use it sometimes since it is only $1.35 here and $1.40 for premium.

AKcharger

I think Ethanol is now considered by many as evil since it's making people starve all over the world. Funny a lot of the same people that said Ethanol was the way to go are saying it's bad now.

Is still today, not in Caracas only, is in all the country. I fill the tank of my charger with around US$3

Anyway just to let you know, gas price is goverment controlled and subsidied. That's the reason why the price is that low. Without that, it would be higher. Still lot cheaper tha rest of the worl, but noticeable higher

I just found out that my Ol'Ladies Sable "DD", (I know, it's a Ferd product) is a flex fuel vehicle.   Now all I need, is to live around a place that has the E85 fuel.
This is an interesting read.   There are alot of cars that are flex, but people don't know it. Plus going over this site, there are quit a few places that sale it and more getting it, everyday.   Be sure to read the FAQ section.   Hell, we could be Import free, if Detroit would get off their asses.   Did you know, all cars sold in Brazil have to be flex cars. Ford, GM, Chrysler, Ricers, ect?   Why not here? One bushel of corn makes over two gallons of Ethanol.

I have an E85 vehicle, I stopped using E85 since it was costing me MPG, about 4-5 mpg.
