Ok, I'm having HEAVY tranny problems:

-on cold engine ( spoecially after first warming up at day ) once get iddle I engage tranny on D and heard a whistle that increase for I while I open throttles.

-takes lot of times to change from first to second and then third.

-with hot engine. the whistle dissapears, but I have to press a lot the gas pedal to get the car moving like it was engaging on third, so I have to change to 1st and then 2nd. Of course this is more noticeable going up a hill ( that Caracas has a lot, since is a valley ). On flat streets is more hard to notice, but sometimes is similar that going up.

-when I'm going down, I engage from D to second and then to first to brake with tranny. from D to 2nd everything looks fine, however, takes a lot of time to engage from 2nd to 1st.

-Tranny Oil looks A LOTY DIRTY and also liquid ( without viscosity ). I check for level when I'm warming up, and it looks overflowed, But I'm sure I never did.

your thoughts please... I think damaged tranny converted but... ???

didn't some trans have vac lines that went to them.  whistle sounds like a vac leak.  i don't know, i'm not a transmission guy, i'm just throwig that out there to get this started.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Some of the GM and Ford units are vacuum modulated.  That's what they use instead of a kickdown linkage.

no vacuum leaks... a friend of mine is having same problem...

Ok I'm getting mad with this and the brake problems... and all scratches my car got since the fresh paint. PLUS, an exhaust leak, K member isolator noises, no drain on quarter and teh water is arriving somewhere to rear floor board, and is not for the non drain holes. I have to remove all the interior on rear to know.

Too much stuff and not enough money.

Don't feel lonely. I just had my Charger fully painted and dumped alot of money on the paint job. Just got home a month ago and the Charger bacame a magnet as soon as I got it home. I have a major scratch in the hood where it's exposed to everyone to see it and one of the bumpers in the corner of the garage hit the passenger tail area and left a chip off the paint! While I had it in stands about 2' off the ground to install the TTI exhaust system, I (stupid me) hit the garage door switch to lower the door - well needless to say the hood was open and as the garage door came down and the steel bracket on the garage door hit the hood and scratched the living day lights out of the paint - right through the paint and primer down to the metal!! After it's all put together and running, I'm taking it back to the body shop :flame: :flame:  Sorry that I can't give you any insight on your tranny problem, but hopefully my comments will make you feel a bit better knowing that you are not alone with scratches.

Now I know what my body shop guy said as I was pulling out of his shop, "I'll see you soon, these cars become magnets"! I thought he meant people attracted to looking at them, but now I really know what he really meant. :icon_smile_angry:

good luck with the tranny bud!

thanks for your words...

I had a perfect engine bay painted, but now with the brakes problems, the area around teh brake fluid dist block is damaged. several scratches at chips off on body.

My problem is not the paint itsefl, is really all related job around the paint. With reflective rallye stripes also they get damage. Paint is cheap since I can do it by myself but not the stripe, specially using 3M stripe wat is not cheap.

Engine bay job is a lot to paint inner fender, specially tha brakes stuff side, with all brake lines, dist block etc...

I think I'll remove anyway engine to change Head gaskets for metallic ones, straightening the NOS OIL PAN I got and "tech" benden installing it GRRRRRRR, make some gasket replacements, new fresh paint on engine and repair a head threated hole to valve cover that got damage...

Need to rebuilt the hood hinges.

GRRRR to many stuff.

ok thanks anyway.

get back to topic...

Torque converter ? valve body ? need oil replacement ?

it is possible that tranny cooling lines and water cooling lines are crosing or leaking somehow between them inside radiator ?
