Will a 426 wedge cross ram intake fit a 383/440 magnum???, or does anyone make a 383/440 magnum cross ram intake manifold?-MATT

It won't fit a 383 for sure as B/RB intakes don't interchange. It should bolt on to a 440 but, I don't know about port alignment.  :scratchchin: There were some aftermarket cross ram intakes made way back for both engines.

To go along with what 694spd has said I think the max-wedge heads had taller ports, thus the port alignment problem. A&A Transmission has reproduced the crossram intake and is making one that fits the 440 heads.

It's rather pricey and with the required carbs and linkage, real pricey.

I'm wondering if you could use manifold spacers to make it fit the 383, but then it's getting a little hokey.

It can be made to fit either motor. The max wedge uses a larger intake port so the right heads would have to be part of the top end package. Some aftermarket heads can be opened up to a max wedge intake port. On a 440 you could use just about any head that could be opened up. On a 383-400 lowdeck it's a little more tricky.....your only option would be a set of MP stage 6 heads modified to the max wedge intake port window. The stage 6 heads are unique in that they allow for an RB manifold to be used on a B engine.

The old edelbrock STR (Street Tunnel Ram) series manifolds are crossrams with standard port windows. As mentioned above; A&A and now MP are making repro max wedge intake manifolds but they are pricy $$$$

I think you would be doing good to just have a 383 2b carb.

yea but i think having  a 383 cross wedge would be cool 2 see, whenever i do get around to buying a 69 charger (hopefully this summer), i wantd to make sort of a ''hurst edition'', B5 blue paint,v-21 hood option w/ hoodpins, white vinyl top, black interior with buddy seat, hurst T-grip 4-spd shifter,SE emblems on the roof,383 magnums on the fenders where they would be on earlier chargers ,
''hurst equipped'' emblems where the ''HEMI'' emblems would be on a 2nd gen charger,383 w/ cross ram intake,a-833 tranny, and 15 x 7 cragar ss mags on red line 235/60/15 tires-MATT

You would need to use Stage VI heads on a low deck.  Carbs and linkage aren't too expensive if you shop around.  I make a linkage kit that works with the Edelbrock carbs which makes the setup less expensive and a little more street friendly.
