nice looking chick... get rid of the CSA and flag crap and you will be alright in my book.

the ol "stars and bars" is only trivially acceptable on General Lee clones due to the t.v. series novelty, but to deliberately have it on a hat, and a truck, and then have the abbreviation CSA tells me one thing.  You believe in the ideological viewpoints of a now defunct governmental movement that attempted a divisive maneuver to remove itself from a government it viewed was removing its rights to own slaves.  Now I could have just said the "R" word, but I think that was more politically correct.

BTW, you do understand that we have african-americans, hispanics, and other ethnic nationalities that frequent this board.  If you do not mind them looking at your avatar and considering you a racist, white supremacist, KKK member, or neo-nazi, then go ahead and leave it up there.

Personally, I hate your avatar and what its symbology represents.  I could have been harsher mind you, but I would love to hear your thoughts on the matter.

What's this CSA crap you're talkin' about? All I see is a hot chick ... that's pretty much it.

Seriously though, I agree with the CSA part. I have no problem with the flag itself, for most people it just represents the south, not slavery or racism. But the CSA part... can't say the same about that.

Pretty sure it means Confederate States of America.

Could be wrong though.

I myself see nothing wrong with it at all. I was in Virgina a few months back and saw the southern flag along with the American flag being flown everywhere. This little town had some of the nicest people (white & black) that I have ever meet, and all these people got along great as friends and neighbors with no trouble at all..Racist,,I say no..it is just Southern pride.Up here in Pa where I live,I see Italian flags flying,,German Flags flying , Canadian flags flying and many more flying,,does this make anyone who flies a flag of a different place a racist or a bad person ???? All these different flags are just part of American Heritage...All the people from all diifferent places make this 1 GREAT COUNTRY...

THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

America,,the home of the Mopar  ;)

I see no trouble with it.   I think that if someone does have problems with it.....well...they are just looking for something to bitch about....perhaps a Midol??

This whole topic should be in the off-topic section.

Surprisingly, I am going to comment on a topic I would usually avoid. Even more surprisingly, I am going to throw in with the questionable avatar. For the record, I think the avatar is innapproprite because of its sexual innuendo. My thirteen year old son occasionally surfs the site with explicit instructions to stay away from the off-topic area. I would rather not have a "charged" avatar like the first one on view for public consumption. Rather bad taste and another sign of the growing apathy towards moral decline.

However, as a transplanted Michigander living in Savannah, Georgia I have some different perspectives on the flag. I am a northerner and will always be so but have chnaged my mind on the whole confederate thing a bit. The rebel flag and the "csa"represent more than racism to the people living here. While some are certainly racist in there association with the flag, most display the flag as a symbol of state pride. Not pride in a racist past, but pride in the home state. Even Robert E. Lee was against slavery. After considering fighting for the north he agreed to lead the conferderacy because of state's rights over federal involvment.

RD, my family is of Italian ancestry. While there are many diversities now, I find it a bit insulting for you to refer to yourself as a member of the "Kansas Mafia". The mafia in general, Italian or otherwise, are responsible for murder, drugs trafficing, extortion, etc for years. While you yourself might not associate with that behavoir, you certainly are tying yourself, albeit loosely, to an organization with a checkered past. How is that so different from your critisizm of his confederate (read southern) pride?

When I worked for the local power company I worked along side of many people that wore the confederate flag hats and shirts proudly. Every one of them was more than happy to use the "N" word on a regular basis no matter who was around unless that person happened to be a black boss. Then they would wait to slander them after he or she would be out of ear shot. Didn't stop them from wearing the garb. One guy even had a small noose on his key chain that hung from his belt loop. The same guy wore KKK hats on a regular basis.   It made me sick to say the least.. They all had a problem with me coming from "NEW YORK". I was labeled from day one.
The funny thing, (or not so funny thing), was that when the subject came up, they all had a problem with blacks. All had a problem with Yankee's. They would say stuff like. (MY GRAND PAPPY FOUGHT IN THAT WAR). (My family lost allot of money in the fields during all that shiP)..  I would ask if they had family members that fought in any other wars? (Oh yeah, Korea, Vietnam, WW2)!!! So why don't you hate the Germans and the North Koreans?? You LOVE your Ford and Chevy trucks that are built by YANKEES!!
You seem to have gotten over losing people in all these other wars, GET OVER THIS ONE........

Well...okay...I guess a rebuttle is in order....True...The picture is inappropriate for the kiddos...But as far as the Confederate flag is concerned...to me...it means nothing more than representing the south.  I'm not a racist by any means.  I have a General Lee replica  and  to be honest...I've had more black people compliment me on this car than anybody.  When you mention Dodge, or Mopar in context with the Confederate flag,  the first thing to come to peoples mind is....the General Lee.   Everybody knows what it is, and what it stands for.   If you watch T.V.  as far as sexual inuendos go....there is more of that there than an animated avatar...which...I might add...the internet should be monitored by parents as should television.  If you think that there are things here that your children shouldn't see...well...lock out this forum so they can't access it  as I do with my own children because that is my duty  and my responsibility toward my kids.  I monitor  EVERYTHING my kids do on the internet.  I can go into this site and pick out lots of things that are inappropriate for youngsters to see if I wanted to be anal about it, but that isn't my decision to make anyway.     I believe it's up to the moderators and administrators of this forum to decide what is appropriate and what is not.  If they say it's inappropriate....then  we must respect that as members.  If they see no problem with it...well....deal with it.....maybe there should be a new topic area for stuff like that and lock it out to adults only, so kids can't access that.   Anyway....in my opinion....that chic  in the avatar is a hottie...even though it is an animation ;D

Orange_Crush

The battle  flag (its not the confederate flag) represents the worst part of the south.  While it was used for honorable pruposes during he war, it became a symbol of opression and white supremacy when it was adopted by the KKK as a symbol.  It was not until the civil rights unrest that it began flying atop state houses in the south as a sign of defiance and support of segregation.  The meaning of the battle flag is now, and will always be tainted.

If you want to show your regional pride (and the south has much to be proud of) without the evil undertone (as well as the image of being a mouth-breathing, sister-nailing piece of trailer-trash), then you fly the confederate "stars and bars."

Well....Orange Crush.....The General Lee sports the Confederate flag...or  "battle flag"  as you put it,  and it's going to stay there, because that's what belongs on it.  Bottom Line...        Like I said...I've had more black people compliment this car than anybody...so...if they aren't offended.....well.........If that's what that flag means to you...well   that's your right.   but what it means to me  is totally different....and that's what matters.

That sounds a lot like "Some of my best friends are black."

You have the freedom to wear, fly, or paint whatever you want on your car.  Not my problem or business.  I'm just telling you what the flag means.  If you come down south and take a drive out in the country and actually SEE who flies the battle flag outside their house, you would not want to have any type of association with those people...especially whe ones who wear shirts and hats with pics like the one blackwolf posted.

Like I said, if you want to pay homage to your heritage, the best way (and most appropriate considering that it was the flag of the ENTIRE CSA and not of just a few military units) is to fly the stars and bars.

Incidentally, The chick in the pic looks pretty gamey.  I'd have to scrub her down with a wire brush (and wash that damned hair) before I thought about doing anything with her...not to mentioned the required medical exam.  But judging from the people I see going in and out of conveniece stores with 50 bucks worth of lottery tickets in towns like Trion, GA wearing clothes with the battle flag on 'em...she'd be right up their alley.

I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

I think most people are fine with the flag itself (I have no problem with it). It's the "CSA" people have a problem with.

There is no such thing as a "CSA". We are the USA. And anyone that flies the confederate flag above the USA flag is no better then those protesters that flew the mexican flag over the US flag (and had the US flag upside down).

I'm from the south and I'm proud of it. But I'm an american citizen first and foremost.

But as far as JUST the confederate flag, there's not a thing wrong with it (it's a kickass looking flag). It's the individual beliefs behind that flag that matter, and each individual is different.
