Well folks yesterday was a sad day. The moxer is in doggie heaven now. His condition went down hill pretty fast. His med were making things worse or no helping and we had to say good bye to a great friend . He was the best dog I've ever known.
Ah man , sorry to hear this . R.I.P. Mox .

Thanks a lot guys. It really means a lot.

Sorry to hear about your dog Bodie, tough time.

Here's a couple of Rosie the mini schnauzer as a pup in December 09 and one from New Years day 2015.
I'd been away from home working in the Middle East for 4 1/2 months and when I got back in a taxi from the airport she was barking like a stranger at me outside on the porch naturally enough.
My daughter raced outside, she was super surprised and excited as we hadn't told her I was coming back for Christmas. When I opened the door Rosie was still going nuts until she worked out it was me then was yipping and high pitched howling wolf noise that schnauzer's make, up standing straight on her hind legs and nearly turning somersaults with excitement. That was pretty cool.

I've gone back over to work again and my wife said Rosie has been checking out the rooms to see if I'm stilling hiding around the house somewhere and has been spending a lot of time snuggling with the girls. Neat animals aren't they  :yesnod:

Has anyone here had to leave their dog at home while they went away for an extended period of time for either school or work?

I got a Schnauzer as well, great dogs  :yesnod: Mine loves to go rides and when we hook the boat up he goes nuts and I have to put him in the truck till we leave. When I first started my resto and started my Charger for the the last time my first schnauzer jumped in and wanted a ride, well he died of cancer and never got a ride. The one I got now stays out in the garage when I'm out there and tonight jumped in the Charger when I was installing the dash. Hopefully I get it done before this one dies.

Not sure how long you mean but as they get older they can't hold it as long. I can leave ours inside for 8 hours and haven't had any problems.

I hope so too! Neat dogs, we used to have a Staffordshire terrier but had to put him down when he got really old and sick, cool dog he was too.
Funny enough, Rosie only just tolerates rides in the Charger and cant wait to get out when we get somewhere. Its a 2 hour drive down to our holiday home and she is super keen to leg it out when we arrive.

Yeah, we do. I installed a dog door and we have an enclosed fenced yard so no problem for the dog or anyone.

My wife will be here to look after our boy.  I'm going away for training and will be gone for weeks at a time.

Not sure how you got your doggie door set up but I would be afraid of someone nabbing the dog or in my case a utility worker leaving the gate open when I'm gone.  :shruggy:

Too damn cute!! He had cold feet, lol

RDC

This is our new dog. He's a pure bred husky that we rescued. We think he's around 2 years old. Very smart and cuddly. We named him Artik

RDC

Here's one more. Our children have grown up and he's claimed their old play set for himself.

Great looking dog, I have come close to getting one a couple times, and a rescue   :2thumbs:  very cool.

Hey Oreo, thanks again for all your love, friendship, and companionship you've brought to my family the last 14+ years.  It's been a real pleasure.  'till we meet again, take care good buddy   We'll enjoy the clip until then.

I'm guessing Oreo passed. sorry to hear ... what happened JB?

JB400

Unfortunately, he got a cyst at the base of his tail last Oct.  We got the cyst removed, but it never healed. Then, last Sat., his left leg swelled up, and he could barely walk.  He did make it to the computer though, and read the forum with me for a while, and let me look him over.  We took him to the vet yesterday, and made the better of three decisions.  If we had the operation done, he would have lost his motor functions, and would have been in misery.  If we done nothing, he might have made it to Fri, but would have been in so much pain as well. But, during the video I made yesterday, he let us know we made the right decision.

Thanks for your support   It's greatly appreciated.

Dino

I'm sorry for your loss JB.

Our cat Watson, also a black & white, died today and my wife and I are heartbroken to say the least.  He had a congenital GI issue that we were able to control by feeding him, and his buddy Charlie, home made food.  It was the only food he would tolerate and at least we knew what both cats were eating was good for them.  Remember the Chinese pet food fiasco several years ago?

He became sick yesterday after breakfast so we just watched him.  In the early afternoon he had projectile vomiting which is like a near-death experience for a cat.  We took him to the animal hospital but despite their best effort his health kept declining.  By this evening he could not respirate properly even when placed inside an oxygen chamber.  His pupils became unresponsive and remained that way indicating brain trauma.  He lived to be 10 years old, not very old for a cat, but that's a long time for a cast that started life as a malnourished kitten that could not hold its food.  I would like to think that we did everything to give him the best life possible' and a great life he had.

We will miss him greatly.  Goodbye Watson, thank you for being the perfect little boy.
