with a 3 1/2" BS. How much of a difference would 15x8" wheels with a 3 1/2 BS make?

Don't know if this info is relevant or not, but the rears will be 15x10" with about a 4.75" BS.

i dunno my backspacing but iuse 15X7 in the front i would use those instead of the 15X8's myself...........Mike

Unless you run a really short tire, that's not enough back space. You'll probably tag the lower front corner of the wheel opening.

So then it's better to stay with the 15x7's? Would 3.5" be enough BS for those? If not, what do you recommend?

You don't mention what car you plan to use these on, but a 15x7 w/3.5 back space will work on a '69-'70 B body with a 26" tire. I've run a 28" (235-70-15) tire with some mods to the fender support and wheel lip.

I'm getting ready to mount up some 225-70-15s on 15x7s/3.5 BS, and they will fit fine on my car.

if you go with 15x8 it will most likely rub and it will not look quite right.  stay with the 15x7's and i run 235/60's with no problem at all.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Thanks, fellas.

They would be going on my '68 Charger. There was an auction at ebay that I though I might bid on. They were for 15x8's. I've decided not to bid on them and stick with 15x7's thanks your all your advice.

Thanks again.  :icon_smile_big:

Go with 245/60...235/60 is a tad small in my opinion.  Here they are on my car:  (excuse the big pic, sorry)

The bigger the better. The more detailed you can see, the better IMO. Great pic, thanks.

One more question, is a 3.5" BS enough for a 15x7" wheel?

Actually, on a 7-inch wheel, MORE back space would be better. Optimum fit is generally achieved with zero offset up front. That equates to to 4" of back space on a 15x7.

Thanks, Magnum. I figured 3.5 would be enough. Glad I asked the question before making the purchase. :D

I have 15x8.5's on my front and when the wheel was turned to the extreme right, it would catch the front corner of the passenger side wheel well without the trim attached. This is with a 235 70. I do believe 235 60 would have given me clearance, but not with the trim installed.
