It all comes down to if the friend is okay with it or not.  I picked up a friends ex a couple weeks after they broke up, but then again, we were both going after her at the same time (he asked her out ONE DAY before I did.) so I guess I'd call that a special circumstance.

personally, i'm 21, I say let her make the first move, that way you know if she feels the same or not, and if she does, definately ask your best friend (like they were saying, body language and everything), and if he says yes, I'd still be asking both of those things that appear on your shoulders wether to hit it or not.  (my say is just leave her be...)
