Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I think that thing bears paying attention to, like it or hate it.  I suspect that car's gonna be remembered as an important landmark in musclecar building.  Because as far as I can see, it would be basically impossible to take current trends of hot-rodding (and fast-street-car-building in general) any further than that car has.

--  The 528 Hemi & are Corvette-type rear tran/saxle, and everything's made of aluminum including the engine block.  Which means it's more or less impossible to get much power out of the car without wrecking the handling balance.

--  The suspension is about as advanced as just about anything else out there too, with IFS/IRS that uses aluminum control arms everywhere.

--  Even the aerodynamic body mods are pushed about as far as you could possibly push them without losing resemblance to the original E-body.

I have mixed feelings about this....I would love to drive this but hate being seen in it! ::)

I guess I'm old too, this is like Chip Foose stealing my Charger and me pretending to like what he did with it only to get rid of my love for an original looking ride. :rotz:

I do admire the agressiveness, just wished he did it to a '69 Camaro instead of a Mopar.

69 Charger (R/T clone), 440 (60 over bore) edelbrock performer RPM top end, balanced, nothing second rate) over 500hp, new drive train, 727 rebuild manual shift reverse valve train, TTI headers and exhaust, painless wiring, autometer phantom gauges.  My true garage resto! Very Proud of her.

Yeah, but that body probably wasn't anywhere near a complete/solid 'Cuda when they started.  They didn't need anything but the upper half of the bare steel shell.  That kind of bare hulk is still not worth much even when it's an E-body.

I'm actually a bit honored that they DIDN'T choose another 1969 Camaro for such an ambitious project and chose a Hemi Mopar instead.
The whole project seemed to focus on demonstrating the "ultimate" in everything they were doing.  And with the money & resources they were throwing around, they could have used absolutely any car body they wanted to.

My family and friends already know if they ever foose me it better be my duster! besides it would make a much better show with them trying to fix all the bad repairs in that one. if somebody stuck 22s on my charger they would have to die!
