too big and gawdy in my opinion

It all depends on your needs and wants. If you need to haul or tow heavy loads and have a family that goes on trips with you it could be just the ticket.  I have a crew cab F-250 Super Duty V-10. It will tow anything I need it to and I can fit the family inside and still carry a load in the bed. Not something you can easily do with an SUV or a VAN. The back seat is comfortable in my truck for about an hour. Then it gets cramped. The Mega Cab has a much better seating system. The seats are more like a Lazy-Boy and there is MUCH more room back there.  Also if you were to go on a trip alone or maybe 2 of you, the back seats can be folded down flat and you could even fill an air mattress and sleep in the truck.   I have towed cars cross country and wished I could do just exactly that. You just want 3 or 4 hours of sleep and get back to it, but sometimes it takes you an hour or more just to find a motel with a room. Then load in. Pay for it. Load out.  I would rather sleep in a truck stop and get back to it when I wake up...

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I read somewhere that the 07' or 08' is going to have a new tranny. My memory sucks, but I had also heard from a guy at a local cruize in, that the new tranny was going to have a double overdrive.  I would be happy if they would let you pick a 3:55 or 3:73..

As far as the bed goes I agree. I figure they will come out with a long bed as well. I think you're going to pay BIG for delivery of it though....

I would like to buy one that has been in an ass end wreck and cut off the rear frame. Add a 8 foot frame and box to it. Duelly of course!!  ;)  This would be with a Cummins and with a MOMBO "VEGGIE OIL" fuel tank..

Maybe keep the 4:10 gears but put 20" road wheels on it..

Now there's a tow rig!!

Long bed is coming out this fall I believe.  They had to redesign a new longer frame to accommodate the 8' bed and they are going to offer a new line of Heavy Duty's (4500 and up series).  So consider your wish granted.  Also a new larger Cummins (6.1L or 6.7L).  :icon_smile_big:

The new CAB/CHASSIS 2007 trucks (Whcih should be able to be ordered soon)  will have the new 6.7 Cummins diesel. I had heard it was to have 750lbs of tork but it appears right now to be 610lbs of tork. There are 2007 emission standards to be met. It will have a particulate collector/filter that is self cleaning along with a oxidizing CAT and a new EGR system. With high EGT of diesels  they have to keep the power in check to avoid burning this stuff up. It also has a water cooled turbo. It will also have a factory exhaust brake that they say will work better then after market units.   The transmissions will be the G56 manual 6speed and a new Aisin-Seiki AS68RC 6 speed auto with 2 overdrives.  0.63:1 top gear that can be locked out. Also a PTO is standard on it to run things if you need it.  The Manual tranny can either get a 3.73 or 4.10 rear gear and the auto is 4.10 only.

Keep in mind this is the 3500 series CAB/CHASSIS trucks and not the standard pickup trucks. You will also see 4500 and 5500 series trucks also. These will be work trucks with boxes and lifts and so forth. It will also have a 52 gallon fuel tank and an optional 22 gallon saddle tank.  You probably are not gonna see any changes in the 2007 regular pickup trucks as of right now.

How much more rear space does it have over the standard quad cab?  I've got an '04 2500 cummins quad cab, short bed and it dosen't look much smaller than that picture.  Maybe 4" or so.  Bob

Well Bob, unless you have a change of undies, don't park side by side with one... You'll shit!!!  The Quad cab looks like a baby compared to this monster.  Look at the size of the rear doors and then add to that the steel behind it.

My Ford Super Crew (WAS) the big cab on the market. This monster kicks it's aRs by 12 full interior inches front to back....

(DAMN, MAYBE I SHOULD GO SELL THESE THINGS)....   :icon_smile_cool:

My wife and I have been looking at a couple. We love them. We are looking at a 4X4 Hemi Mega Cab. As much as we want one, all of our cars are paid off. My Yukon XL just was paid off, and I hate to have another $600.00 a month car payment if I don't have to. The extra cash is nice. I will probably wait for the new Challenger to take on another car payment.
