front quarter section drain...

Once and again... how is the drain ( if it does exist somekind of drain ) on the quarter front section down the quarter window. My patches are home made and I think body man didn't thought on that, plus repro window felts are pieces of S**T. Lots of water is entering, and arriving some how up to floor boards, and my floor boards are perfect conditions and original untouched.

The body man also repaired the inner frame of that area where quarter lower area meets with exterior quarter panel, since had lot of rust. I don't rmemeber if this area of frame had somekind of bended/"pushed" area to let the water drains and falls dwon the quarter.

Yes the factory made provisions for drainage. If your body man didn't do this. You will need to drill some holes or your going to have rust holes later. Look inside the 1/4 and see where the water is bilding up. Use a cordless or air drill and drill 1/4 inch holes where the water is. Problem solved. Then go bitch slap your body guy.

how are the drain areas ? I have seen NOS quarter panels and never seen drain slots. Are they just a depressed area on the inner panel frame that lets free areas once quarter panel is welded below the car ?

If you have a stock car to look at. You should be able to look down into the rear 1/4 window area and see or feel the drainage holes. In your case. I would just drill some holes in the area described under the 1/4 window. Anything to get rid of the water. It won't hurt the value of the car at this point as much as the water damage that is going to happen. The factory holes where oblong holes. But I would just use a 1/4 inch bit. 2 or 3 spaced out evenly in each side should do it.

No, I don't have a stock and untouched car to look at I think.

I would love to see how is, since if is posible I don't care to rebuild that area AGAIN IN THE CORRECT WAY, even the body job was made less than a year ago.

I don't really know where to make holes with drill since if I make then I probably will make a hole also on the inner frame. Outer panel is practically face to face with inner frame, so I don't think there is room without touch the inner sheetmetal. Plus my Car has SE kind rocker panel Moulding, so Hole will be covered with moulding lip below the car.

Here is what I'm saying. This is a NOS quarter panel sold on ebay sometime ago.

Sorry I got it now. The drain hole should be on the part that you weld the new 1/4 to. In other words on the body side of the car. Not the skin.

still don't get where it should be, since water is saving between that skin and the frame where it welds below the car

At the very bottom. Where the two are welded together. There should be 1/2 slots so that when you put the 1/4 onto the body you will see the holes then. With the 1/4 panel off the body you won't actually see any holes. Just indentions they should be in the very lower lip of eather the body or the new 1/4 panel.

that was what I was thinking... so we are talking about somekind of depressed casted area on inner frame where there is "room" since outer skin don't matches with frame, and water drain throught

I have the same issue, havent posted here in forever (from the old site, we spoke a few times)... I thought my problem was occuring because I never replaced the weatherstripping on the quarter window (have new ones just been saving them for this build up). Guess Ill have to figure something out.

Definitelly is not weatherstrip reason. Not even if you find NOS ones, since allways have a gap at the end to let it hide the vertical moulding. Water will storage there ALLWAYS, whatever you do.

GUYS NOW WE ARE TWO THAT WANT TO GET the best solution. I want original as posible.

I circled the drain hole that I can see along the bottom edge...

No DCF, that's not a drain hole. Exterior panel doesn't arrive to that area, not even close, just folds down the lower edge... that edge you labeled is just the inner frames parts meeting.

question is still on board, even I have an idea about how is the drain hole.
