Don't know if this is old news but, its new to me. It should fill a very large void for 4 speed console needs. The price might seem high but in reality originals are bringing nearly this much in used condition. With this part you can now get all the special 4 speed console parts in reproduction.

I called the place yesterday and through the guy's heavy accent I think I deciphered that they will soon be making the auto plates and entire top plate kits that include the small curved piece behind the console lid and the one in the back. He said the kits will be in the $750 range.

Anyone that has tried to find and buy a 4 speed top plate will appreciate this item. If nothing else they should help lower or level out the cost of originals. If an automatic version is made I hope it is less money because originals are easier to get.

I asked him about the ribbed auto 66-68 top plates also, he said they have not even started to make them
yet or the mold, but the mold for the 4sp top plate could be very usefull and save time. I think the
auto top plates will sell more than the 4sp plates. Yes the 4sp plates are harder to find, but there are
a heck of a lot more auto cars out there.

Gotcha.

You know what scares me know about these reproduction top plates (this is the pessimist in me talking) is that we've waited for years for this to happen and now they haven't been out there for a month and I'm already wondering what's going to go wrong. Will they give the mould to the Chinese? Will there suddenly be a two-year back order? Will they turn out to be crap? Will they decide they aren't making any money on them and discontinue them, etc.? It just seems too good to be true. And if something seems too good to be true...

I just hope someone on this site buys one soon and gives us a review. I'd do it now myself but I'm a little short in the money dept. at the money, about $400 short. But as soon as I can I'm going to grab one before it's too late.

I would have bet any amount of money no one would ever repro the 4 speed lids because of such a low demand. but if someone made the mold the money has already been spent so they're here to stay
