Is my flywheel destroyed? Right size? BIG pics.

Why the previous owner rebuilt the motor and left an old clutch in the car I will never know, but now it's my problem.  My buddy thinks the cracks aren't that bad and that they'll resurface out, but I'm not so sure.   Any opinions?  Does this clutch disc seem too small for the flywheel? Looks how much oil is in my bellhousing...pretty bad for 3 or 4k miles!  The bearing was rough to spin, definitely needs replacement and I'm sure it did when it was put back in the car.

Looks like there was quite a bit of heat  on that flywheel!!!     Judging by the cracks....I'm not too sure  but don't hold me to this....but it looks like it needs replacing.   I'm not sure if a resurface  will help.    Those are pretty deep cracks there.    Wait till others chime in though...they may know more about that if it's repairable or not.

Its junk replace it, Iam surprised you dont feel it grabbing as you let the clutch out

Your first concern is where did the oil come from? engine or transmission (my guess is engine), but the leak has to be repaired or else you are going to end up with the same problem.

As for the flywheel, those are some serious cracks, and it's had a bunch of heat put to it. It might be possible to surface out the cracks, but I would replace it with a billet/sfi rated unit for strength and safety, and use a clutch that is a full surface, non puck type (my preference), and it's recommended pressure plate.

A new flywheel (your's appears to be a 143 tooth), will allow you to use an 11 inch clutch (your's appears to be a 10.5 inch), which would give you close to 10% more friction area to reduce slippage, however nothing will live with oil contaminating it, so make sure that the oil leak problem is completely eliminated, and of course you will need to replace the TO bearing as the heat will have damaged the existing one.
