Managed to ride the Power Tour for 3 days and had the time of my life!!! The Dayclona gang and I were invited to help represent the Mopar contingent on the Virgnia to Harrisburg leg, led by Kenny Wayne and the Xtreme Lee....with Hot Rod TV cameras rolling, sweet!!!  Kenny even took a little time to chat with us.... really nice, normal guy, thanks Kenny. Of course, a pic with Miss Peak Antifreeze and Miss Splitfire Spark Plugs posing with my GL is pretty cool too.  Btw, we experienced absolutely no mechanical breakdowns over the course of the 1,500 mile trek...Mopars rule!!! Anyone else go on the tour?

I saw that car at Harrisburg - I did the Harrisburg to Englishtown leg with my 68' - come to think of it, I was the only 68' in Harrisburg.... even got the ole' boy on the Year One sight... Was KWS car trailered from stop to stop - I know it was from Harrisburg PA to Englishtown - I buzzbombed their rig at about 95mph. Otherwise it was a great time.

Nice 68, man. Congrats on the Year One exposure. The guys from Year One were saying that there were few and far between Mopars on the tour compared to everything else.
As far as Xtreme Lee, I don't know what happened between Harrisburg and English Town, but witness the pictures. It definately DROVE out of Virginia...and it went like hell!!! We were blasting through the mountains around these hairpin curves and I rarely saw his brake lights...that thing runs on rails!!!

A few more. Saturday morning about to leave E-Town and....this cop was cool enough to take a few pics with us. Actually our whole experience with the cops, and there were several on the Tour, was very positive. Mike G from Dayclona was stopped for doing 120 in the Watermelon Daytona and his price for the violation....to let the cops take pictures with his car!!!! Any horror stories out there?

Good deal...

Sounds like you guys had a great time. We drove out to Harrisburg Thurs. morning. We had my 68' Charger, a 71 Dart GT, 69 Camaro Z/28, and a 65 Chevelle - Best part... everyone had either overdrive or highway gears so we were able to maintain a good 75-85mph the whole trip with the occasional 100+mph blast here and there. We had one mishap when a ball joint let go on the Chevelle in the parking garage of the Harrisburg Hilton, but we were able to get it fixed and be on our way.

It was a really good time - I was kinda wishing it was a bit more organized though, and what was with all the Vendor bugging out at 6:30PM... that was WAY to0 early considering some people were just rolling in 4:30 or so. The nice park that we really didn't see any big breakdowns anywhere - a few over heating issue for some people, but again, nothing major.

Glad you guys had a great run and please, if your ever up in the NJ, NYC area again, drop a line and we'll get together - it would be kinda' neat to drive the General Lee through Times Square.

Cheers - Mike

Are you sure?   From what I have read in the past Power Tours, the next year starts where the previous year ended.
In '05 it ended in Fl and in '06 they started in Fl......

E-Town will start '07

Mike is right. It starts in Ohio next year for some reason. I was psyched to make the run again next year because E-town is only 4 hrs from RI and I figured they might go North and West, right past MA and RI. . I planned on riding the whole tour, but now it starts in Ohio and ends in Arkansas. Bummer. Ohio is a good 15 hrs out and Arkansas...who knows.

Glad to hear you had a good time as well despite the one minor mechanical glitch. Seems to be the popular opnion. I took the General to a local cruise night this Sunday and some guy saw the Power Tour banner on my windshield. He told me his Power Tour stories and what a great time he had as well.
It seems overdrives/highway gears ruled the Tour. There seemed to be no in between...cars going either 80-90 or the speed limit at 4000rpm. We were in the 90mph cruising speed club, and the General hit 120 a couple times...my co-pilot was not amused.
I think the vendors blew out so early at Harrisburg because of the storm clouds that never opened up. I know in Roanoake they stayed much later. I know we didn't leave til after sundown and there were still some vendors there. Speaking of sundown in Roanoake, check out this pic.
I'll keep that invitation in mind Mike. I was actually tempted to drive it around down town Harrisburg at night, there seemd to be alot of hot chicks,  but I always fear the reckless drunk guy running out from a bar and trying to slide accross the hood or something. I took the car to a summer barbeque last year and most people respected the paint job....until they had some drinks in them. Then I got things like some dude's girlfreind sliding down the hood from cowl to nose because "This paint feels soooo smooooth!!!" Try tactfully talking a drunk chick off your hood without causing a scene, pissing off her boyfreind or having her inadvertently cause more damage to the paint.

I did the partial tour last year and had a blast. Just couldn't swing the time off this year, but I'm already planning for next year.

PT2007 starts in Cleveland, then to Kalamazoo MI, Racine WI, Springfield IL, a couple of TBDs, and finally onto Little Rock AR.

Both start and finish are less than 500 miles from home for me, so I can long haul and consume just five vacation days in the process. Rumor has it that one of the two TBD stops could be in my back yard.

wish the'd do a midwest one

You're joking, right???

2002 Lincoln NE to Pontiac MI
2003 Nashville TN to Fortworth TX
2004 Arlington TX to Green Bay WI
2005 Milwaulkee WI to Kissimee FL
2006 Kissimee FL to Englishtown NJ
2007 Cleveland OH to Little Rock AR

2006 is this first time since 2001 that the tour hasn't touched the midwest (or at least the lower midwest)!
