Does anybody have any pictures of the belts setup along with the belts for the power steering and idler on a 3rd Gen Charger (I havea 73 SE 400 with AC).  I believe mine is rigged up from the previous owner and it's time to get it fixed.

Thanks!

Becarefull with pics. Depends of year water pump housing oulet is different. 73 is FOR SURE on passenger side. I thought outlets on  driver side was last with 383 ( mids 71 ) and  since 400 came out, all did come with  outlet on passenger, but I have noticed several 72s with the earlier setup. Maybe just depends of stock on plant assembly ???

73 set up doesn't use an iddler except for a tensor belt on SOME rare setups to A/C-Alt belts, what I think is no more than just an NON SLAPING belts device, not really an iddler. Iddler is just to engines with water pump housing outlet on driver side.

second groove from front is empty on our setup and was used to Air pumps specially on C bodies. On the earliers setup, first front groove was steering pump and the third groove from rear was used to fan with an idler

If nacho is right then my info will not help you.... i have a totally stock pulley setup from a 72 400 with ac.... all 4 pulley slots are used on the crank pulley..... the back 2 go around the crank pulley, ac pulley, and alt pulley..... the front goes from crank to power steering... and the next one back from the front goes around the crank, water pump pulley, and idler pulley....

Thanks Nacho!  We had a Mopar show this weekend so I took a look at a few Chargers.  I also bought the correct pulley I was suppose to have (right now it is a 4 inch pulley from Tractor Supply).  I also have the Idler in the wrong place, along with the bracket being one from a power steering bracket.  So all I need to do is find an Idler Bracket and I can put things back to normal :D

Then you have the earlier one with water outlet on driverside and matches with this belt chart:

and uses the lower iddler on this diagram, attached on to water pum hosing, pulley toward to bottom:

Stock setup on 73 doesn't use necesarilly an iddler so I didn't know which one are you talking about, except if you have the earlier setup with radiator and water pum housing on driver side. Maybe somebody did changed before you get the car ? ???

this is the only iddler on laters setup existant, but is not mandatory, is just more like an antislapping  belt tensioner I think ( between Compressor and radiator hose ):
