I wonder if the hp manifolds were put on later in the process for whatever reason, thus allowing the assembly guy the option of slapping it on over top of the dipstick or carefully putting it inside?  Or maybe some of those guys just fiugred the hp engines would get headers anyway so they were making it easier?
