Ditched that pesky bulge hood

I finally took that annoying bulge hood off my 71 charger today. It had been bothering me for a while now. I had put it on in '87 when I bought the car. I got a rare 72 charger topper hood from twilt to replace it  with. I hate that a 72 topper gave some of its parts for my car but I guess it was a necessary evil. It was off stormhammers old car. I got the pass door too.

Ummm, I'm confused. Don't you like the bulge hoods? I hope that isn't from your Bee? I must be missing something here.

Nope .The bee and the charger are two different cars.

so how much money did he give you to convince you this was a good deal? LOL

WM23N1

Actually Tom gave me a pretty good deal on some stuff I needed. Im just going with a plain-jane look for my 71 charger. Im even switching back to the non rallye dash! (not to be confused with my 71 super bee.

bold move but go you.
BTW you could use that extra $$ to get this darn bench seat out of my way !!! LOL

twilt

He already has a bench seat ;D , also donated from Stormhammers old car. I couldn`t convince him to take whats left of the Mock Turtle top though.  :'(  BTW, that hood is not only a Topper hood, but a Topper X hood, and possibly a Topper X-spring special hood.  :o  1 of 200

Lowprofile

I always thought the 3rd Gen Bulge hood was one of Mopar's best hood designs. I like them. :icon_smile_big:

ironic that when many of us have flat hoods and dream of a bulge, somebody with a bulge hood wanted a flat one. shuldnt have any problems finding a home for that bulge hood

Nacho-RT74

and figure out this:  I had 4 NOS 73 flat hoods
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

Ya, I agree. I think Terry might of been drunk after Tom got him that way. That way Tom would have another bulge hood for his collection or like 20 or so :D

It took me months to get rid of two flat hoods. I was shocked at that considering I was giving them away.

Big Lebowski

Ya but a tunnel ram would look great sticking out of that flat hood. :icon_smile_big:
