440 six pack throttle pressure rod

I'm putting together a 440 for a friend(still), and he bought a brand new 6pack set up. I have the thing all connected. The accelerator cable bracket, which they supply, does not look like it will work with the original throttle pressure rod.  Does it? If so how?

The 6-pack center carb throttle arm sits in about the same position as a 2-barrel carb would, the 4-barrel sits further forward so the original 4-barrel upper rod will be too long.

What about the pivot bracket that attaches to the intake. There is a new bracket that came with the kit, it sits in the same spot or close to it. Can I fit the old pivot bracket on with the new bracet or is the new one desinged to replace it?
