So, on my way to my step sisters graduation my Mercedes was starting to get hotter then normal, so i stopped to check the water. well when i popped the pressure release Blood Red boiling water came out! great! so luckily i was only 20min away from my sisters house, so she picked me up. my dad is going to my step sisters graduation tonight and then he is going to meet me tomorrow and tow the car to my uncles house... I priced some radiators on-line and they run around $300. my dad just called with the idea of getting an external transmission cooler and then flushing the radiator. I've never dealt with any of this before. anyone have any experience with external transmission coolers? do you know how much the run?

thanks

Nik

Tranny coolers are quit common, but I don't think that will cure your over heating problem. It could be a stuck thermostat, colapsing hose, leak, fan issues or gunk in the radiator. ???

BTW...........never pop the radiator cap on a hot motor! :cryin:
