OK, first question on this site......here it goes........

On a B body, 440 factory air car, does someone make a pulley to install in place of the AC pump?  Or, is there a re-route of the Alternator belts that can be done?  I like the cool (especially here in Central CA, currently 105), but prefer the cleanliness of the engine compartment without the pump.

Thanks in advance!

There are two applications......one  with a/c   and one without....I imagine someone can chime in with a diagram showing you a non-a/c set up out of the factory.   I believe it's a matter of different belt sizes though  and routing differences.

This question gets asked a lot and the short answer is there are no shortcuts, you have to get the non-A/C pulleys and alternator mount bracket.

One often overlooked item is the water pump, A/C water pumps are different and when driven by non-A/C pulleys don't move as much water.

I am of the opinion that a well detailed A/C setup isn't all that unattractive and I damn sure wouldn't scrap my A/C in 105° weather.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thanks for confirming what I suspected.  I am going to go with the aftermarket AC setup eventually, but was hoping for the "shortcut" solution until more funds are available.  These darn mopars are eating everything in my wallet!!!

It's a good thing they are worth it....... :icon_smile_cool:
