What can I do to stop the flickering lights/gauges?

I'm sure someone out there knows what I am referring to. The lights, radio and gauges dim and flicker when you have a lot of electrical stuff on (when idling). Is it the regulator? It's a new one. Will an electronic regulator work better?

It's annoying.

Thanks John G

Tipical alt fail at iddler. Is pretty normal on Mopars with stock alt unlles you have the smaller pulley.

That's not the only problem... also with smaller pulley the stock old alternators are low output one ( around 60 amps as much ) so at iddle is very tipical get low output. My advise if you want to keep with Mopar parts and original funtion, go for a lates 70s alt able to drive around 80-90 amps. These alts are wider stators able to get more magnetic filed at low RPMs.

another advise: run parallel heavy wires ( 8-10 gauge ) wires from ammeter to alt and starter relay through firewall with a grommet to save the stock wiring form the extra load, able to burn the wiring.
