Help me decide tail stripe or no tail stripe?

Hi, I just cant decide if I want to put a tail stripe on my car or not. It is an original stripe delete r/t car. It is being painted black, and I know it would look good with no stripe and the r/t emblems, but a red r/t stripe would also look killer. What do you guys suggest? Oh ya its a 69.
  Thanks alot

Go without the stripe for a while and then if you decide you'd like to see a stripe on it, then add it later.  It's easier this way than the the opposite.

I personally like the stripes, but I am also a fan of bringing a car back to the way it left the factory.

Only you can decide.

I had to decide that to with mine last year. I was thinking of a white stripe on my car. It was an R6 red stripe delete car originally and I decided too go stock with the R/T emblems.

I just put the stripe on mine, it really sets off the back of the car, breaks it up a little

Go with a Ghost stripe.

all depends... If you are driving on a stock look R/T  with all fender tag matching, I would keep on that line, However I likes more the stripe than the emblems.

I like Pocket Idea...

why not both ? black "ghost" stripe and over it the R/T emblems ?

Is 69 stripe with R/T cut outs ? I think you could match the R/T emblems inserted on stripe cut outs ;)

I agree if you are going back 100% stock then use the emblems.  If not I like the stripe over the emblems.  The ghost stripe looks sinister.   :icon_smile_evil:

Personally I never liked the emblems over the stripe look......

-except on a Landy car. But then its allowed. ;D

Black with a red stripe is about the best for loud stripes. The ghost looks good too. Like the flat black stripes on the black AAR cudas.

terrible one

I prefer the stripe over the emblems, but as long as you aren't trying to restore it to original then you should just do whichever you prefer.

I love the stripe I put one on my 68 and it's not an RT or a clone I just like the way the stripe looks.

I prefer the emblems, but that is also because every one already has a stripe...

i have pondered over this question for about two years,my car is also a stripe delete car. and i have no vinyl top.but i do have the chrome rocker molding witch breaks things up a bit but after looking at all the chargers with a stripe that didn't come with one and looking at cars that only had those big ass R/T emblems back there, it was very obvious that the emblems were very clean and looked good.if you have any doubt look at a few pics and do what you like. thats really what its all about right. :yesnod:

Totally prefer the stripe over emblem. Won't take away from the value at all by putting a stripe, especially a red one!

R/T EMBLEMS are the only way to go...  adds CHROME and lets everyone just FOCUS on that big 'ol R/T

Stripe. That ghost stripe looks friggin sharp.

On a black car, the ghost stripe looks great. Obviously the stripe breaks it up, but if the car is going back to stock, matching its fender tag, then stay without the stripe.. If you aren't that bothered and really like the idea of the stripe (I do....) then go for it.

if you were going with the original color i would say R/T emblems, or one of the stock color stripes. but seeing as you are painting you car black, i think a matt black ghost stripe would look mean especially with  black steel wheels with hub caps,  :drool5: awesome. or a get custom stripe made up or get it painted on a real dark dark red color :drool5: just my  :Twocents: what ever you decide it will still look awesome dude
