Has anyone seen this yet?  I know I'm not the only comic geek on the board...at least, I hope I'm not :icon_smile_blackeye:

I liked the first two movies, and loved the comics as a kid, but this was a travesty.  I enjoyed the movie for it's special effects and action, but the character butchery was hideous.  If you can enjoy it for a cool action film, go see it.  If you have any attachment at all to the characters, prepare to be irritated  :flame:

I saw it Saturday.

I thought it was pretty cool. Not as good as the first two though.

Rest assured, you are not. Im one from way back, although I always prefered DC to Marvel (this was back when, like country music, DC was uncool) Although I have adjusted well to society since the mid 70's & you would seldom know of my geekiness nowadays, I still am unable to resist almost any comics based movie. X-men 3 was pretty good I thought, but very fast and packed full of things (a bit too much at times) I didnt like some of the main characters getting axed, but overall OK. My all time favorite comics movies; The Rocketeer and The Shadow (yes, the Alec Baldwin one......I know) I'm still awaiting the upcomming Capt. Marvel and Wonder Woman flicks. Should both be good...Meanwhile, I'll go drive my Mopars.......

Do I win a no prize?

I still have all my comics from when I was a kid. We saw it on Friday night. I was shocked at the number of main characters that were killed off.

trivia for you Marvel fans: Did you spot the Stan Lee cameo in the movie?

WE also saw the preview for Ghost Rider. Man, I have been waiting for this flick. He was one of my favorite characters.

If there is one thing about movies from comic books, they never follow the comics. I used to be a really large comic fan when I was younger and that kinda irked me a little but I learned to get past it.

Useless Trivia:
A family friend of mine worked on the special effects for X-men 2, Fantastic Four and also X-men: The Last Stand. You can find his name in the credits as Steve Knight. He grew up in Quesnel with my dad.  :icon_smile_big:

Ok, so I'll fill in the Stan Lee info.

Stan is the neighbor watering his lawn in the scene when they show up to Jean Grey's house when she is a child.

Stan has a cameo in every single Marvel comics movie.

For those who don't know, Stan Lee created most of the major Marvel comics characters. Everyone from the X-Men to the Fantastic Four, Hulk, Spiderman, Capt America. Just about everyone Lee would write the books and guys like Steve Ditko and Jack Kirby did the art.

Saw it with my 7 yr and 8yr old on opening night a few weeks ago.....I was surprised how many kids under 10 were in the movie theater. It was pretty good considering I am more of a shoot um up, blow them up, crash um up kinda movie goer. I love the blue chick though!   :drool5:

I didn't know there were going to make a fourth X-men. I had heard that they wanted to stop all the Marvel movies with only 3 movies per title.  ???

I saw Hugh (Wolverine) on the Today show a few weeks ago.He said he was not sure if there would be another  X-men movie but he did say that Wolverine will probably branch off and make a movie or two! :yesnod:

I've heard there is a Wolverine movie in the works.

What did I miss in the credits?

TeeWJay426

I saw it this past weekend, thought it was great.... of course, I never actually read the comic books, so I have no character attachments there. And I also stayed through the credits..... wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet, so PM me if you want to hear what they showed.

Damn, that movie looks badass.

I liked X3, myself, except for the fact that some major main charactors got killed off.

Ok I know where Stan Lee is in most of the Marvel movies except two  :icon_smile_big:

The Hulk - Coming out of the science building dressed as a security guard. Also note, the HUGE security guard walking with Stan was the original Hulk, he played in the 80's TV Show.

Spider-Man 1 - Underneath the collapsing balcony that the Green Goblin Blows up

Spider-man 2 - Stan is almost hit by the hand of the clock tower that Doc Ock throws at Spiderman

Fantastic Four - The mailman in the baxter building

X-men 1 - A hotdog vendor?

X-men 2 - Supposedly he doesn't have a cameo in this movie?

X-men 3 - Man watering his lawn next door to Jean Grey as a child
