I have a few before pics and some after pics of the passengerside seat base that I just finished up for my 68 Charger. The new covers are black with black inserts. This is replacing the green/green seat covers. The burlap was toast, the foam was wasted, so I replaced everything. I think it came out great. Now I`m going to start on the seat back. Enjoy the pics.

I`ve got about 8 hours into the seat base. That time includes removing the seat from the car, stripping it bare, welding one broken spring, rebuilding the burlap piece, new foam, gluing the muslin cloth to the foam and hog ringing the foam and new seat cover on. I still have to do the seat back and restore the two seat tracks. I also have to install the hinge covers and single seat belt holder. Looks like a 40 hour plus project per bucket seat for me. That`s about 2 months of squeezing in an hour or two here and there. Then there`s the back seat to do...Believe it or not, I`m actually enjoying this but would never want to do it for a living. I can see why the local upholstery shop charges a small fortune to do this work. It tedious and time consuming work. When I did the buckets in my 64 Sport Fury and brought them to the local shop here for the owner to check them out he offered me a job! I politely refused and he said no one wants to learn this trade anymore. He does mostly custom work and builds all of his seat covers from scratch.
