Aluminum Master Cylinder Conversion ???

When converting to the Aluminum master cyl a la Magnum HP, do you have to use MP's adjustable brake push rod?
This is on a 73 B Body

you will need the adapter block & you may need to make a longer pushrod the correct length

I would not ever get rid of the power brakes, there is no reason to do that now of days. If you do not have much vacuum you can get a electric vacuum pump that will take care of the vacuum and they are not that big and just a few hundred dollars. Just one wreak would cost more than a pump.

Ive got the Big Bore M Cyl and 73 Front disc brakes.  I had non-power drum on an A Body...it wasn't that scary

If you are converting a manual brake car then the existing pushrod will work fine.  If you going from power to manual brakes then you'll have to get the correct pushrod and maybe the firewall plate.  There are a lot of different power setups so there isn't a simple answer for those conversions.

Manual disc brakes are what I prefer on my cars.  If you have the proper MC and calipers a manual setup operates great.  By going manual you dump a bunch of useless weight as well as open up space under the hood.

The large black steel plate stays on the firewall. When you go from power to the non-power aluminum master cylinder you will then need the adaptor plate and adjustable push rod.

These kits are generally sold as "bolt-in" not requiring modifications etc. 
If it's too much hassle, I'll just put the Booster back in with the new master cyl etc...
Are there any modern Brake boosters that'll fit?

My shop builds the adapters (or at least most of them) that Mancini, Ehrenberg, MagnumHP, and other sell.  We also mfg the SST heat shield as well as a bunch of other disc brake kits and adapters.

GregZ at www.magnumhp.com is really a good person to work with when doing conversions.  Greg has put together complete kits with all of the little parts needed.  Eberg has also put some pretty good conversion kits together and of course he has a ton of knowledge in this area.

One thing I haven't ever done is produce the factory firewall reinforcement plates for the power to manual conversion.  They are usually simple parts to tool up for so I suppose I should add them to my list of new product ideas.
