Just felt like showing some pics.

LahTera

Thanks, Silver!  Trying to get more up, but having a bit of a problem.  I'll work it.   ;)

I think I've just got too large of file sizes here.   ::)

LahTera

Another.

Silver R/T

you can attach up to 4-5 pics at one time, love 70's challengers

Yeah, but that's only if it's not over 200 KB.  These photos are hitting 130-150 KB each.  Ack!   :icon_smile_dissapprove:

LahTera

LahTera

This is the engine for that Coronet, which, by the way, is NOT a true R/T.

LahTera

LahTera

This is a friend's car, too.  (All the above belong to Mopar buddies of ours, as well.)  He has recently passed away from cancer.  Not sure what they did with his car.   :(

LahTera

CB

looking good!
thanks for sharing.

You should be able to attach 4 pictures up to 200 kb *each*. The limit for the entire post is 800 kb.

Cool cars - I'm kinda partial to 68 Chargers... :D

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

LahTera

Thanks, CB -- looks like you've got quite the ride there, too!    :icon_smile_tongue:

This was at an Eagle River car show a couple years back.

LahTera

LahTera

Aha!  Thanks for that insight, Troy!   ;D

I've got Mopar pics all over my computers ... at this point, it's just a matter of tracking them down.   :-\   I really need to reorganize!  But I'll definitely see if I've got more 68 Charger pics.  I know I've got a lot of old Mopar Nat photos from my bro-in-law.  (He's got a '70 Cuda, lime green.)

This photo is the winner from the car show we had a few years back.  Absolutely gorgeous vehicle!!!  You could've eaten off the undercarriage.  (They trailored it from Kenai.)  Shaker hood -- woo hoo!

A GTX from Fairbanks came in 2nd.  Triple black and perfect, it was a hard choice!  I'll have to find those pics.

LahTera

LahTera

This one is known as "Dart Vader."   He's quite the racer.     :yesnod:

LahTera

LahTera

Meet the Grim Reaper.

Next is "her" Challenger, owned by the wife of our Anchorage Chrysler Dodge dealer.

Then on to Mad Alaskan's Challenger -- I do believe it's an R/T.  Reminds me of Vanishing Point.   :icon_smile_wink:

LahTera

LahTera

Am I getting too many in here?   :P

Here's that GTX I was previously mentioning.

And you just don't see too many of these Road Runners up here anymore, either.

LahTera

LahTera

its good to hear from you      thx for the pics   Big  Al

Hee hee!  Just adore 'em, Banana!   ;D

Good to see you, too, Al!  Long time!  How ya' been?

These are shots of Shawn's 70 Coronet burnouts.  Hee hee!  LOVE burnouts, too!   :icon_smile_evil:

Here is a PIC of my Cousin's 66 Coronet with a 440.
My Cousin has been helping me rebuild my Charger in between racing events.
Since installing his new 950 cfm carb he has been running mid 11's
I keep telling him he needs to change the color.

LahTera

Oh, look what I found!   A pic of Russ in front of that fine GTX.   Hee hee!

And you can see our lime green Cuda (actually, it's his brother's) in the background.

Then there's a Challenger R/T for those of you who enjoy those E-bodies.

LahTera

LahTera

Hey, it's Charger Steve!  Good to see you!

Actually, I kind of like the color.  Do happen to recall I used to complain that I always seemed to get the "puke green" Mopars?  LOL!  Well, I guess it's kind of grown on me.  From the pic, that 66 Coronet seems to be on the green side -- am I right?   ???

This Superbee strolled along our street one day -- LOL!  Wish I had it!  That's my next car.  And NO!  I won't sell my Charger to get it!

LahTera

LahTera

This pic I really love.  It's Randy Roller's racing Charger.  He wins every time!   :yesnod:

LahTera

ChgrSteve67

The Coronet is a very light sky blue or baby blue.
I tell him he should paint it Black, Red or Dark Blue. Something that will instill fear to those looking in their rear view mirror.
The hood is black but thats because he bought it from someone that installed a hood scoop on it and didn't paint it
He cares more about how it performes than how it looks. I can respect that.

LahTera

I, too, care more about how it runs than how it looks.  My hubby, on the other hand, SEEMS to be the opposite, thus my car got painted.  LOL!

More miscellaneous Mopars at the race track.

LahTera

RD

great pics!

how'd that nova get in there? hehe :D

That last one is a Chevy II, Lahtera!

Howz it goin guys and gals!   Nice new place you got goin here!
Hope the wifie didn't load you guys up with too many pics.
There's lots more where that came from....

Silver R/T, there are actually quite a few Mopars layin around these parts, you just gotta know where to look, and who to talk to.   You know the drill.

Charger Steve, nice to see you around!   Where'd our post counts go?   Heheh!

Big Al! Whassap!

Talk to you all soon....

Here's what my green Charger looked like before it was painted.  Note the cop cruisin' by.  (They don't seem to do that as well anymore.  <Sigh!>)

LahTera

LahTera

Anyone up for a Studebaker?  LOL!

Here's a yellow Cuda at the track, too.

LahTera

My Charger by what we call "the cove."

My Charger in a show, along with another blue one.   ;)

Some E-Bodies for ya'll to gaze upon.   :)

LahTera

LahTera

More E-Bodies.  (But they spin out easier than Chargers, don't they?)   :icon_smile_evil:

LahTera

LahTera

Here's a rare one.  A Rambler Marlin.

LahTera

These belong to a friend of ours who has a knack for collecting all kinds of Mopars.  He's a mechanic buddy in the valley.

LahTera

LahTera

These cars are actually a few that are kept in a person's BASEMENT.   Absolutely crazy, but in a good way, I guess.     :P

LahTera

Mussed up the other 2 pics.  <Sigh!>  Getting 'em in here.

LahTera

LahTera

I remember taking the 3rd pic down because of a thread on the old boards regarding whether our marker lights actually worked or not.     :icon_smile_wink:

LahTera

LahTera

You'll never guess whose car this is.   Hee hee!

LahTera

AKCharger's beauty.

Khyron

AKCharger took those.  They are nice!  Me, I had an old Ricoh camera that put in a little too much white.

:popcrn: I really like this thread, went thru it 3 times already!

Khyron

I like the overall feeling of serenity <SP> in looking at those pictures. The view of nature with Mans best creation in it   :icon_smile_big:

Those are some great looking cars, who would have thought there would have been so many in Alaska.   :o

MoparYoungGun

Thanks for all the wonderful pics, there much appreciated  !

Brock Samson

Thanks for sharing, lookin at the pics, i felt a chill,..
Nice cars in the garage there, great variety..
On a side note, your T/A chally pics got me to thinkin...
Why were the antennas on the rear quarter on the 340 six-pack cars?... and no other mopars?...
Oh and Mustang Hater,.. notice the messed up fiberglass hood on the 300-H?..

IBsmokin

Yah I never realized they had so many mopars up in Alaska neither, i figure if you did see a pic of a charger it would look more like this!

Captain Mopar

Heheheh!!   That is great, IBsmokin!!

Captain Mopar

LahTera

He be smokin' those green peppers again!

Yeah, we store all our Mopars in double-igloos, too!

Nice to hear from you again, LahTera. You might be happy to know that I decided to go with the TT-1 green on my '68. It will look like the twin of yours when finished.

LahTera

QuoteI've seen almost every car you posted in person as well. Alaska isn't what most people think, igloos and snow every day of the year. Summers here are awesome, granted the winters do suck! I'll miss the summers here when we move, and thats about it to.

Yeah, and to think we've been hitting the 80s here lately!  Too hot for me!  We're supposed to be a "marine" climate, but it's been extremely hot and muggy for Alaska this summer.  We're even getting thunderheads and lightning storms, something that is not very common here at all.

QuoteWhere's the cape and phone booth?   Hey there Capt.

LOL!  Can't use phone booths anymore as they just don't put 'em in booths these days.  He literally has to jump into his Mopar to change, can you believe it?  And his cape was blown away in the last windstorm we had ... normally he uses it as a car cover.  LOL!

LahTera

THE COLONEL

Here is my one of my favorite pictures of my son Blake, and "The Colonel".  I have other pics like these at:http://photobucket.com/albums/y117/TheColonel01/

QuoteNice to hear from you again, LahTera. You might be happy to know that I decided to go with the TT-1 green on my '68. It will look like the twin of yours when finished.

Woo hoo!  Wish we could cruise 'em together.  That would be a site to see!  Do you have an R/T?  Me, I'm STILL waiting to rebuild my original #'s matching 440.  The rebuilt 400 is holding up pretty good, but when I pop open the hood, everything is backward.     (Plymouths!)  LOL!

Colonel, I was meaning to tell you, I love that yellow!  As I've said before, I always seem to get stuck with the #s matching where the original color was "puke green."  Actually, my old 73 RR was more like a forest green, but you know what I mean!  That yellow can't be missed, so I'm betting other drivers DO miss you, which is a good thing.   :icon_smile_big:

LahTera

THE COLONEL

Yeah, I can't hide from anyone in that.   It is not an R/T, just you basic 318 Charger.     Here are a couple more pics.

Beautiful!  I'm hoping to get a Superbee that color someday, with those beautiful bumble bees on the rear.  Woo hoo!

Nope, not an R/T. I'm the one who emailed you a while back about your color. I've got one of those 383/2bbl/4spd '68s.

LahTera

Aha!  So that WAS you ... LOL!  I was remembering someone doing that.  Sheesh, I've forgotten what my color is. :ahum:

Awesome photos.  Love the scenic background of the Alaskan terrain.

      :popcrn:

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

Afflyer

 Gentlemen, those are truely awe-inspiring photographs!  Thanks so much for sharing.
I wonder if AKCharger is still deployed.  He PCS'd to Langley AFB over a year ago, I believe.  His wife's got a good looking 3rd Gen that he's in the process of restoring for her.  Was that a MAJOR dent I saw in AK's right front fender, in that one pic?!

LahTera

LOL!  Yeah, I know Illinois country.  My dad and brother are living down there.  Hear there's quite a drought going on.

And yeah, I was bored.  Been stuck at home sick all week.  If I just keep still in front of the computer, I do all right -- when I'm not pukin' or sleeping.   :-[

Maybe I'll splash some Alaska pics up in the Off-Topic area, eh?

Actually you told me at the time that your color was not chosen based on the original paint code so it's not the TT-1, It looks close though. I believe the TT-1 has more of a metallic look. It's a hard color to describe. Here's a pic of one owned by a member named Ron that just left the paint booth.

LahTera

Well, I know that the paint guy tried to get it as close as possible to the original.  Hmmm.... sure looks close to it!  I could've sworn that was my car coming out of the paint shop from that pic -- LOL!  The rims are just a bit different.   ;)
