I will be going to the Jefferson City Meet at the end of the month and would like to keep an eye out for members of the site. For good or bad it is a members only meet this year so that is why I am curious.

BTW: I will be bringing the '69 if anyone wants to stop and chat.

I'll be there for some of the days, but I will have to teach lab this summer at MU.  So, unfortunately,  I don't have time to go get one of my cars from back in Kansas to show there (I was planning on bringing my /6), but I will have pics of them though.  I will also have four of my friends coming with be to the show (one is a rabid chevy fan that I am trying to convert over).  Don't forget that Columbia will have the Mopar show on Father's Day too if anyone is nearby..........

I guess I will be there I would probably get in trouble if I don't attend.
Don't be shy stop me and say hi when you see me.

BTW I am the local host for the meet in case you didn't catch that.

We are going to have a great time. Over 200 cars are scheduled to be in attendance.
Several special guest have agreed to be there and the schedule of events should be coming out in the next week or two according to Wayne. It is getting close.

Any questions don't hesitate to ask .

What hotels are you all booked into?

I am booked at the 2nd one on the list as the 1st was full...can't remember the name off hand. According to Wayne's last update there is supposed to be a packet coming soon.  I am looking forward to the meet and have a few things to spruce up on the car yet. Maybe we can put something in the windows to indicated site members.

I am curious how the motel parking is going to be. I am traveling over 400 miles and bringing the car on a trailer, as many probably will, so hopefully there will be enough room.

My Dad and I will be there. I will have the General with me. I would like to bring both, but the trailer only holds 1 car. The car is far from a trailer queen, but my Dad is 71 and a comfy ride is better for him. Hope I can meet you all. I am at the second hotel also 694spdRt.

The Fairfield is the 1st hotel it has a decent parking lot but not to big.
The Hampton is the second it has a smaller lot but it can hold quite a few cars and there is a church with a big lot behind it. I will check if it is ok to park there until Sunday morning.
The Ramada Inn is the third.  It has a huge parking lot that it is not unusual to have large trailers on it all the time.

However there will be ample trailer parking at the fairgrounds  for all trailers and tow vehicles if you want to leave them there from Thur thru Sunday. We will have someone at the fairgrounds 24 hrs a day for our peace of mind.

Any further questions don't hesitate to ask.

Hi Mike

I booked at the Ramada as it says in the packet no trailer's allowed at the Hampton. Ramada was listed 2nd in the earlier letter I got. Are all the motels fairly close together?

BTW: Sorry Mods if this needs to be moved to the Show section.

oops I switched the second and third hotels. sorry bout that. for those at the Hampton I have talked to the church behind the hotel and am waiting for a response but they didn't think it would be a problem. They just wanted to talk to the pastor.

The Ramada is in a diferent direction from fairgrounds than the other two hotels but has a huge parking area. and allows pets.

Sent my money and info the last week of May.  Hopefully they send me credentials(?) to get into the show in time.

Debating driving or trailering.  The Charger has all the A/C parts, just not charged up.  The A/C in the truck sure would be nice in the July heat, and the gas mileage towing the Charger might even be better........... LOL.

Plus,  breaking down with the Charger on the interstate 400 miles from home is not too appealing.  :-\

Lee I think you are at the Fairfield you might want to call and confirm. 573-761-0400

As far the credentials are concerned They will probably be handed out at the hotels wed. night and at the gate in the morning on thursday or after depending on when you arrive. The some of the info such as the itenerary should be arriving shortly. The original plan was to mail all of it but the cost was very restrictive. Wayne is trying to spend his money where we will have the most enjoyment.

it is just over two weeks away I am looking forward to it.

P.s. Lee are you going to Columbia for the Show me show or Auburn to that show this weekend.

No, almost all 2 lane.

US 63 does not pass through Des Moines, it crosses I-80 about 50 miles to the east.

(I revised my reply above)

I have only travelled the stretch from Columbia to Moberly.  I would compare it to any other US Highway, like US-61 near you.  Probably have to slow down/stop in some towns for stoplights, etc. along the way.  Looks like Ottumwa, IA would take the longest to travel through on that route.

Travelling across I-80 to Malcom, IA, then down US-63 shows 36 miles further on the software when compared to the route on my previous post, be that good or bad.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm...that looks a little bit complicated.

Hwy 61, US 151, to I 80, to Hwy 63 seems much easier. I am familiar with the route except Hwy 63.
