Crazy car, engine combos.

I was just wondering if any of you have come accross people who have made weird engine and car/truck combos. I will give you an example I worked with a guy in high school who had a 70s Datsun pickup, a really small pickup if you know what I am talking about and he put a 302 Chevy engine in it. He gave me a ride in the pickup once, and the thing hauled ass. Its something I prolly would not do but it was cool none the less.

I've seen a 440 in a '70's Datsun 240z.

Back in the day(1971-1976), I ran a 57 Chevy, at OCIR, with an alki burning 440, 833 with shaved gears, 498 rear.  I caught hell from both the bowtie guys and the Mopar dudes. Really got razzed because I lived real close to the track and towed it, to OCIR, with a towbar behind a 69 VW bug.

My Fav. was a 426 HEMI inna late '70s Mercedes SL, Hemi Orange with a Shaker commin thru the hood and a Hemi Badge on the trunk.

My friend has a fastback Jaguar E-type with a 360... yep he's a Mopar guy! He also has some sort of 6 wheel drive truck with 44" tires and a Dodge pickup truck cab on it. I never have gotten the full story on that one but it's got a big tow hook/crane on the back and looks like something straight out of Frankenstein. ANother friend of the family had a Chevy Luv pickup with a 350 but that seems to have been a fairly common swap at one time. A friend from high school and his dad are big street rod guys and they like trying to squeeze oddball engine/trans combos in to every car they find. I'll have to ask for a list of the current ones.

I haven't seen the car in a while, but a local guy had modified a 4 door, Volvo station wagon into a 2 door version. Very nice work & it looked factory. He had put a Chebby 350 into it, and had a good sleeper. Most people wouldn't notice a square Volvo at a traffic light, but when he takes off, forget it. Must be at least 10 years since I've seen it.

I bought a Ford F100 cab that was mounted to a '78 4x4 Ramcharger frame with a 400 automatic in it.

saw a dodge dakota pro street drag truck with big ram emblems and mopar statements and a big ol' grab life by the horns moniker on it... it was powered by a SB chevy... I about sliced his slicks when I heard that.

In the '80s, I saw a Gremlin with a 426 Hemi in it and a 4spd. The car would just about pull wheelies when he got on it hard. I currently know of 2 Gremlins with 401s in them. One is a street legal blown car. Down the road, someone has a '80s Chevy S10 pickup with a 350 in it.

Used to have a guy around here who one weekend took the 428 Cobra Jet out of his 69 Torino Cobra and put it in his mom's Pinto while she was away.Raced it one night and twisted it so bad it pooped the glass. lmao

I have not seen one, but I think you can stuff a ford 5.0 in a Miata.  If you do that, you don't have to leave your testicles at home when you tool around in you gay ass Mazda.

A Friend of mine used to race a 36' Ford Pick-up w/ a Buick 401ci & a 4-speed! He says that thing would just tear the rear ends up!

a buddy of mine had an '87 GMC stepide with a 427 in it. Truck looked plain jane but was faster than almost anything around. Another buddy of mine managed to fit a 460 into a '67 'stang. It's not moving yet but the engine sounds sweet!
