Disc conversion questions - sway bar interference, wheel bolt patterns, etc.

I'm seeing lots of opinions on the variety of disc brake conversions out there. I have a couple questions I haven't seen answered with a search.

I'm getting a 68 charger that's a power drum car. I want to convert to front discs. I ALSO want to add the American Racing Vector wheels.

I get the gist of the pros/cons of the different setups. But what I haven't seen is anything about bolt pattern of sway bar interference. So I have a couple questions (sorry like I said I didn't see anything in the search)

1. What is the stock bolt pattern for my original drum brakes? Is it 5x4.5 or 5x4.75?
2. Which of the brake kits will preserve that original pattern?
3. I've read about relocation problems with the front sway bar and disc brakes. Have the factory upgrade kits fixed this problem or will I need to do some work to the sway bar when I upgrade?

I want to get this all right if I can. I'll probably order the wheels before I upgrade the brakes, and I don't want to order 2 sets of wheels.

Thanks!

The stock wheels have a 5x4.5" bolt pattern and it's the same for drum or disc. Any stock replacement type of "kit" designed for a Charger should use the same bolt pattern and will work with the Vector wheels you want. The exception would be any "big brake" kit using large rotors and calipers (ie Baer or AREngineering 13" conversions). You would be ok by using SSBC, Master Power, Wilwood, or the A body swap detailed in the link above. Here's the exact link http://www.moparaction.com/Tech/archive/disc-main.html. That link will also cover most of the sway bar clearance problems.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Thanks! That's a great article.

Is the sway bar interference problem guaranteed? Or is it one of those 'hit and miss' type things?

What's different about the aftermarket ones that prevent the problem?

Thanks!!!
