and the North West has the best.It was on the CNN page. It said that State Farm did a survey and came up with the results and one driver in eleven failed the written drivers test. That really makes me want to take the Charger out.It seems to me that with todays technology that part of the test could be on a driving simulator because where can a kid get practice driving in 3 lanes of rush hour traffic at 60 MPH.I took both of my kids for their driving  test and I couldn't believe that they didn't  have to do more driving than they did. :rotz:It just seems that a lot of people don't use their heads :o

That doesn't surprise me at all. I've had to drive up through that area many times, especially near Boston, & have always felt safer dodging cabs, buses, & drunken window washers in NYC. People will drive bad all over, but there were some erratic people that defied logic, like crossing 3 to 4 lanes of highway traffic to hit the exit ramp in less than 100 feet. Must be something to do with not winning the World Series for so many years.  :D

Mass drivers are the worst. I see more idiots on the road every day than I can count.

MassCharger73

Ouch, hey quit it ! Rhode Island drivers are definately worse than Massholes.

Having lived here for almost 20 years now, I can honestly say they all suck. Massholes are the worst, but Conn, RI, and NH have more than their fair share as well. Course, where I am in southern NH, half the 'local' population is Mass refugees anyway.... ::)

I'm in So. NH as well. I think we could just give Mass Nashua and call it even....

Throw in Londonderry and take Lowell and Billerica and you may have a deal my friend.

You should pay US to take Lowell.

The most annoying aspect of the RI driving experience, IMHO is the fact that they constantly drive below the speed limit as soon as they leave their state. Living two towns away from RI I am constantly stuck behind them. No amount of " drafting " will correct the problem. This probably makes me a worse driver than them, but I dont care.

OK I vote for Pa. drivers- In N.J it is the law "keep right except to pass" but almost ever Pa. driver I see (comuters that live in Pa. and work in N.J. ) can't keep their slow butt  out of the fast lane. I don't understand it- it's simple- if you are not driving faster than the car in the right lane tou should be in it. The 2nd worse driving "pet pieve" I have is why on a 3 lane highway (3 lanes both directions) do the slowest drivers have to be in the center lane??? then traffic speeds around them on both sides! go figure. This is bound to turn into a roll call thread with someone from every state claiming to have the worst drivers.

Sorry Bull, I still vote for New England as the worst & would rather drive in New York & share the streets with a NYC taxi cab driver.   :icon_smile_big:

OK, stop beating up RI! You guys have to realize, 1/3 of our population is from Mass.! In my mom's condo complex, almost half the cars have Mass. plates!
Its a damn invasion! :D

And ,ahem, everything North of Long Island  :icon_smile_big:

But my vote would be New Jersey drivers, probably because they're looking for the jug handles to make a left turn and we don't have those here..... jug handles, who thought up that waste of asphalt?  Come to think of it, when I drive in Jersey I must look bad because of that dammed no left turn deal!

bull

I've never been east of Iowa so I can't say. However, I was pretty appalled with the lousy driving I witnessed on the roads in Colorado. It seemed to me that those people were always trying to run into each other there, and often did.

MassCharger73

We must be extremely prolific here in MA. According to this thread the state should be empty. Half of the NH and RI populace is from MA.  :D

Hey, we like you guys up here. Come on up, but your booze, butts, lottery, pay your tolls and then head south!

;D

MassCharger73

Sarcasm aside we like you guys too. We have spent a week in the Twin Mountain region for a few years now. Beautiful area. It's nice to find open roads that dont have low speed limits or tons of cops. Unfortunately our new business is restricting our spending and distance of travel. Someone else is going to have to take up the slack at the state liquor store.

Jen!  Long time, no see.

I just came to Connecticut (Fairfield), and I'll be staying for another few months.  We should get together sometime.

I might be headed up to Boston to see some old friends, or maybe Carlisle if you're going?
