Which engine?  Does it run?
Which rearend is in it?
I'd say maybe no more than $1500 if it's a 318 and $2000 if a Big Block...

no way! here's one you could probably grab for about $3500 all original.  it was a post i put up a while ago.  Guy asking $4900 but I know what he'll take for it. I thought it was 1950 he was asking but the for sale ad had slid down the window.  you can see it's in better condition.

2nd page look for my post.

It looks very solid specially at quarters. With no more details I think around $2500. Floor board rust is easy to remove with sand blaster since doesn't looks too much deep.

woodgrain insert with A/C vents grills are not hard to find and needs new seat covers Tipical cracked dash pad, A/C equipped, both sides mirrors, magnum wheels... yes maybe $2000-2500, depends of engine and rest of options.

It looks very complete with only missed  SE medallion and dodge badge on hood. Also missed the Charger and arrow emblems on door, available as repro on several resto dealers.

if it runs and drives,go for it-they arent making more of them!

dgie

Thanks for the responses, thats why I run it by you all first and get a second opinion, I wish I did this before I bought my jet boat, which I paid $3800 for and it was worth less then half that. After dumping another $7000 into it, I have a fun boat to tool around in the lake on, but it could have been a lot less if I had known. Thanks again for the responses, The engine is a 400 and not sure if it runs or not, from what I see the consensus is that it is not worth more then $2000, thats what I will offer him.

Nacho-RT74

if is a 400 with rallye cluster then is 400 4bbls... I think $3000 is not too much, is fair. A perfectly restored 74 worth arrives actually around $18K-20K ( nada guides ). by the way it looks I think with around $7-9K you can get it PERFECT with everything new. So any price around that will get a winner

My experience when restoring cars is first try to buy a car that does not need restoration if you could afford to if not then you have no choice go for it Don't pay more then 25%
of its total value finished and try to stay away from rust. You should be good if you follow these golden rules. Good Luck

I am still trying to get in touch with him, no answer yet his phone just keeps ringing.

I doubt he will go to $2000, but I will ask

Silver R/T

just bring cash. Like 1800, and have $200 spare. Say you'll buy wife new furniture or you'll buy the car. If he wants to sell it he'll sell it to you for cash

This is what I do if he wants $2500 pull out 1500 cash and let him look at it move it around so he gets a good look say I really want this car I have always wanted one since I could remember oh please this is all I have. If he does not go for it have a couple of hundred in your other pocket just incase. If the cars not selling some times it better to keep calling with your offer hell get tired of trying to sell and let you have it for less you can break some people and some you cant.

teddy1500

keep in mind that it is a green car. that interior has an nos charge from ledgendary interiors. Not many people like the green, hard to sell later

I am going to pass on it, the guy seems nice, but a little flakey on the deal. I got him down to $2500.00 but he said the title is not in his name and not in the guys name he bought it from. I am a little leary about that kind of sruff. I like to only buy a car with a title from the person I am dealing with. Seems safer to me, even though I am finding more and more people not transfering titles correctly, not sure what  y'alls view on this is ???. He said he would put it in his name, but I would have to pay the taxes on it. I descided to pass on this car, the guy is really hard to get in touch with also and never returns calls. so I guess I am still in the market for a 71-74 charger let me know of any more yall see out there. I live in Dallas area and am fine with venturing out a little bit for a good deal.

I am looking for something a little closer to Texas, they have to be out there.

blackcharger

if he'll get the title in his name, but you have to pay the taxes, then take that much off your offer(shouldn't be that much). Does it run/drive? You might be the only one interested in it at the time. I'd keep after it. $2500 ain't bad.

I think I  am going to pass on it, they are a little flakey on getting back to me when I call them. I am thinking that he does not really want to sell it. I guess his wife is pushing him to sell it because he is going out of country for a year and she does not want it stiiting around.

3rd gens are not that rare, even with a 400 so I would keep on looking also. Plus that car has some issues with the title..if it was an original 440 car I would go through the hassle. The 3rd gen guys tend to overinflate prices and all, your doing the right thing by walking away.
