I just looked at a T5 Copper 1969 RT/SE and am thinking about purchasing it.  It is for sure a RT because the VIN is XS29L9B.  It has the original engine but it has been rebuilt to 6 Pack specs and has a nice high rise Edelbrock intake and new carbs.

Anyway, the fender tag is not there but the build sheet is and the VIN# matches.  I cannot figure out how to tell if it is just an RT or an RT/SE.  Where on the build sheet is the code for SE and what is the code anyway???????

Thanks

Best way is if the fender data tag is still there look for the "A47" option code. In '69, the SE optioned Chargers had woodgrain on their dash and door panels......... Also, there should be the "SE" emblem in lew of the "Charger" script on the roof pillar.......

Like Troy mentioned, the code is A47. Check the "A" Combination Box on your sheet to see if it's listed. Also be sure and register with Chris www.1969chargerregistry.com

I noticed on my broadcast sheet it also has the interior option written across the sheet in black pencil (CRT) which I believe is specific to the SE.  I think one of the first two letters is for the leather and the last being the colour of the interior.  Someone back me up on this if I'm right.

No, it ain't a Hemi.....thank God!

should have chrome rocker moulding trim also.

That was optional to all model cars.

Like others have stated above, if the broadcast sheet is there, check under the "A Combination groups" on the left side of the sheet towards the middle......

See pic for example......This particular car is a T5 RT/SE as well.....note the circled section it has 2 numbers in it......
(A starts off the code...) A01 & A47

Also note the interior color seats written in in black pencil  (CRT which stands for tan leather seats)

Thanks everybody, it has the CRT in black on the front and the A47 code so we are in business.  I just wish the fender tag was there as well.

Since you have the Broadcast Sheet, an EXACT duplicate of the fender tag can be made.  You'll have no problems getting that done.  If you'd care to, PM or email me a scan of your B-cast sheet (minus the VIN, if need be) and I'll crank out what the Fender Tag would look like.

chris how many RT/SE's do you have information on in the registry? I know of 2 that are within 5 miles of me that I haven't ever given you information on. ONe is B5 blue, the other is A4 silver.

Cool info on the pencil writing. I never noticed it before, but my green interiored car has "CG" written on it, and ofcourse the code was C6G for the green interior.

69 Charger SE/R/T SEs did not have woodgrain on the door panels. They only had woodgrain on the dash, and console. All console equipped 69 Chargers had the woodgrain on the consoles, but only the SEs had it on the dash. The woodgrain on the 69 SEs is darker in color than the woodgrain used on the 70 SE. In 70 the SE Chargers got the woodgrain door panels, with map pockets,as well as the woodgrain on the dash(which consisted of 5 peices on the non A/C equipped cars, and 3 peices on the A/C equipped cars)and the console. The 69 Charger SEs used the standard Charger door panels, with map pockets, and were matched to the color of the interior. In 70 only the SE woodgrain door panels had the map pockets, and the standard door panels no longer had these pockets, but they now had aluminum trim, and Charger script emblems. The SE panels also had aluminum trim, and Charger Scripts on them too. I have seen a couple cars that had Special Edition scripts on the woodgrain panels too, just like the scripts on Challenger SEs.
