2 cars and one motorcycle for me. First was a TS400 Apache then years later a 53 CJ3A, next was a TR-7 a few years after that. The TS400 and CJ3 were never seen again, at least the bike was insured. The TR7 was recovered the night stolen but held for a week (By the cops.) with the headlights on and windows down, in the rain. It was slagged full of "finger print dust" soaked to the bone with a dead big dollar battery so almost total loss, thanks PD you caught the guy and screwed me over.  :brickwall:

Yep, December 2003 I had a '97 Viper, '68 Hemi Roadrunner and a Harley stolen. Viper was recovered partially stripped, never saw the RR or Harley again.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

New Haven project vermin decided to hit our neighborhood on a Wednesday night last year. The females of the house left their keys in the cars and guess what they took? My car was locked, and my son was at work. 03:45 at the end of July. Got both cars back. New keys. Sold one to and kept one. Insurance scam was attempted while the cars were gone. Someone was trying a bodily injury scam when we weren't in possession of the car. My daughter's car was found the next day in New Haven CT. Wifes car was found on the side of the road in Westerly, Rhode Island. Her car had all of the lights on. Brought it to the dealer and had the codes read, they said might be ok, might need a transmission. Marketplace it was for that one.
Didn't they used to shoot horse thieves?

I don't live in Rio Linda where meth labs run amok, I'm fortunate enough to live in a nicer area.
Still, criminals often go to where the opportunities are and sometimes the nicer areas see thefts as well.
No, I've never dealt with losing a car due to theft. Call it luck or good karma, who knows why? I used to live in a housing tract with small lots. My Garage was tidy enough to park 2 cars inside but I've often had a few sitting outside too. I did come home to find two of my cars gone, towed away by the county for having outdated registration. That was my own fault....I thought that with as quiet as the street was that no cops would care to impound them. It was likely a neighbor complaint and in retrospect, I understand. I was the neighborhood gearhead with too many cars and even though the houses were not luxury estates, it wasn't Rio Linda either.
Rio Linda...where the homes are mobile and the cars aren't!

TS400 was stole in front of a bar in TX. I think they shoved it in the back of a pickup and hauled ass. The others were in nice condo parking lots, one GATED!

Never lost a whole car but think someone stole a steering column out of a junk 73 Charger we have sitting around
Went to look for it one day for the key lock parts and it was gone
