Just wondering what is the biggest tire size you can get under the rear of a stock 68 ? And what wheel and backspace etc

I like the width of a 295 but don't like the 50 profile because I prefer a taller tire

Any pics of other members cars would be appreciated

Thanks

I run a 295.....
295-35-18 !

I understand though that not everyone likes the larger diameter wheels. I wanted better handling and I actually like the bigger wheels. I draw the line at the 18" size for me since I do like to have some sidewall...

I like the idea of a 295/65/15

Anyone done that ?

Not sure if that would go on a 15 x 8 though ?

Dang...THAT would be a TALL tire!

295/65 is monstrous.  It's like 30 inches tall and 12 inches wide.  It looks natural a 10" wide rim, which should tell you something about putting it on an 8" rim.

Consider a 275/60r15.  The shape is similar to a 295/65 but it's a notch down overall.

It's still liable to rub somewhere if you try to fully flex & compress the suspension.  But the truth is, you have to run a surprisingly small tire to avoid that.

:2thumbs: I have Cooper 255/60 on 15"x8" Torq Thrust with 4.5" backspace on all 4 corners. No issues and near proper ride height.

This was an 18x10.5" rear wheel with a 305-35-18 tire.

Same wheel but with a 295-40-18 tire.

Current wheel - 15x8" with 275-60-15 tire.
