After dragging my 70's tail light cover around for almost 30 years I've finally decided to fix or pitch this thing. Any know of a good glue for all the cracks it has?  :scratchchin:
  It's such an odd material.

It's like a heavy duty cardboard isn't it?

I wonder if you could fibreglass then paint it?
Gotta love a '69

Yea but it's so bendy yet cracks I guess from age. I may try "Gorilla Tape" and 3M black emblem adhesive.  :scratchchin:

My go to glue when I need it strong and flexible is Shoo Goo. This stuff was invented for repairing sneakers but over the years I use it for so many other projects.

It is very thick, use a cheap paintbrush to spread it around, you may need tape on the otherside to hold it in while it dries. Screenshot 2025-01-08 082936.png

I found it in black so ordered it for Friday. I'll let you know if it works.

Nice, forgot they offer it in black as well. Good luck!

Edit:  I just remembered how I handle cracks in thin plastic using Shoo Goo which may apply here.  One of my other hobbies is RC cars. Their bodies are made of thin polycarbonate plastic that cracks all the time. Before putting on the Shoo Goo, I lay some fiberglass sheetrock tape on the crack (side you wont see) and then put the Shoo Goo on top of that. Makes for a super strong bond. Adds weight but strong!

The back side I'll Gorilla Tape so I'll see if it holds. If not you gave me a "plan B".  :2thumbs:

I had best results when I did not put any shoo goo on the part I want to see and used the perforated tape on the crack first and then put the shoo goo over that so it bonds to the tape and the plastic. You wont even see it from the outside, all the repairs will be hidden.  :Twocents:

Black goo matters.
