I'm not really into this, but sometime ago I bought a Victorinox watch that I allways liked. When was released maybe 8 years ago it was into $100-120 rate. Now since it is not anymore available, if some shop still has it new is into $300-350 rate.

Found one used on around $135 (120€). Weirdly the hours hand it was out of place, but (making short the story) trying to adjust it got damaged one of the gears. Found a movement (the machine) for parts ($20) to replace that gear, but didn't last long. Same gear got damaged again. Maybe some other related internal was damaged too. This pieces typically are not fixable due the way they are assembled, althought I tried and got relatively success. With skills and tools is posible.

Now I decided to replace the movement. It is available and already bought one new on AliExpresss ($60). Now my question is:

The movement on watch is the ETA G10.211... "Swiss" movement, but..do you know if all are/were they made in China since the first time? I meant, if I'm getting a replacement from AliExpress sure must be made in China, but dunno if "originals" ETA movements were also made in China and just designed in Swiss so that's the reason why they are advertised as a Swiss piece or design?

My buddy of mine sold Swiss watches on eBay. The movement was Swiss. But the other parts were China surprisingly. He passed on now. So I can't ask him anything current

It might be hard to see but that is a Casio digital watch, an artifact that was popular when our cars were still affordable!

At this minute, I'm wearing a Casio Alarm Chrono watch that currently costs $20.99 on Amazon. No "artifact" and doesn't pass for jewelry.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I got my Casio for it's longer band length. The others were to short for my thick wrist. It has 5 alarms I don't need and is good to 10 bars depth I also don't need. Stuck on 24 hour clock it does have a little "light" button though.
