There's a third form of measurement that combines the two in a way. It's used for engineering & construction where feet is used to measure, but divided into tenths of a foot instead of inches.  :eek2:

I've been using it so long that I can pretty much convert feet & inches to metric or tenths of a foot in my head.  :brickwall:
