HELP!
I have a 1969 Charger R/T 440 automatic came with an Carter carb. Replaced it with an Edelbrock. The Carter choke pulled from the front of the choke plate shaft and the Edelbrock pulls from the rear of rear of the shaft.

Question.
Does anybody make a factory style choke thermostat to fit the Edelbrock carburetor? I have tried to bend an original style thermostat rod to fit but have broken two.  I tried to move the lever plate to the front but it just binds and does not allow the choke to open. How have others resolve this issue?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I had a edelbrock 800 cfm carb on my car & don't remember any problems.

The previous owner of my 1970 RT fitted an Edelbrock carb to reduce his fuel consumption while towing.
He fitted a manual choke which works well.
Gotta love a '69

What's the model number of the Edelbrock? Most choke problems can be rectified by installing an electric choke kit.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
