Well, on that combo (8/12) you can get at least 2 buns bags and 3 wieners packages (getting 24 hot dogs ) and will match easier than 10 wieners and 8 buns (with 40 hot dogs LOL)

I HAVE SEEN EVEN 11 WIENERS PACKAGES!

5 wieners and 6 buns are also very tipical. Need 30 units for a full package match.
