this weekend i got my second Dream Car project, a 1956 Belair 4dr Hardtop, going to need 1 floor patch and both rockers, then its basically ready for bodywork sanding and paint. car was indoor storage for last 35 years.

Was the 56 on kijiji ?

I want to find a 56 2drht

no this was on FB marketplace, we did a 15h roundtrip up north on saturday for this one. Kijiji lately seems to be slipping, so many ads are BS resellers or fake companies spamming ads that cant be sifted through with the search function. (kijiji used to allow boolean commands to exclude stuff, but Ebay stripped that out of the search bar) 2dht's are awesome, but i always loved the 4dr as a chill people mover around town, since i have the BEST 2DRHT EVER MADE in the 68 charger...

Is that the car that had a bar going across to the other side behind the front seat from the top of the door hinge post ?

no, i think that one had an orange fender, and was in oshawa? if so, in the pic it looked like the B pillar was completely seperated from the floor and was already torn apart a bunch. This one is complete and the SBC even turns over (for a split second, going to  oil down cylinders before actually attempting to get it running)

It was a few years ago. Back then you used to focus on helping people with technical issues.
That isn't who you are now.

First off, I have never followed you around...I was here when you were still driving a Camaro.

Second, my comment was a sincere invitation for you to help others with posting pics...but your insecurity always makes you a victim.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

No, you DO follow me. Nobody quotes me on this forum as much as you do. You have been warned by the Moderators several times to stop, yet your strange obsession drive you to keep following a person that has no interest in knowing or associating with you.

And never have, but you keep repeating the claim. Get some new stuff.

Simply because I want it clear what statement I'm responding to. You should try it.

As have you.

Kinda like your obsession with posting your political/social views that have got you numerous time-outs and outright bans? Try a little introspection and some anger management classes.

BTW, thanks for the help that I originally solicited and set you off on another tantrum.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Obsession is not healthy but since you're an atheist and a narcissist, it is pointless to try to improve yourself.

Remember what it was like to be touched by a woman? (Without cash trading hands)
Remember when you had the respect of others?
Remember when you used to be able to walk 100 feet without stopping to rest?
Remember when you used to actually work on these cars?

In 2007, I bought THIS for my Brother in Law:

He wanted in on the Mopar hobby. We both thought that a Duster was a great car to start with.
For $1500, we got a fairly solid 1972 slant six "Gold Duster" with a dead 225, a locked up 3 speed manual and 4 wheel drum brakes. The floors were solid but the spare tire well was rusty. It needed lower quarters too.

Oh yeah, and a taillight panel.

BIL loved the car.
By Summer, we bought a 1979 Van with a 360. I had a B body 8 3/4" axle and a stash of other parts so we started stripping out the stock stuff and getting it ready to be a 360-4 speed-8 3/4" axle with a 3.55 gear.
BIL lived in Arizona so I did most of the work alone. By 2011 I had the bodywork done and the car was painted out back in my shop.

Jeff and I put stripes on the sides...then he lost interest.
The car sat and sat. Finally a few years back he admitted that he'd never finish the car so I bought him out of it.
In the 17 years that it has been here, I got it running, driving, stopping and painted but never finished. The interior is still trashed...

Since the car sat outside so long, even with a fabric car cover, it was in harms way. A few times over the years, I ran a weed eater in the yard where the car was parked. As a result, there are numerous chips in the paint. So many, I'm going to have to fill in the chips and repaint the car.
I'm not keeping this one. My plan is to finish it and sell it. I love Dusters and 67-69 Darts but I'm going to let this one go to someone else.

What is a car like it sits now worth in your part of the world ?
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

Kern Dog

I suppose that I will find out.
In 2008, I built a 318 Duster and got $6100 for it. I was in the car about $3500 so I did okay on it. In 2017 I sold a Dart Sport for $9000, that one I had about $4500 into it. The 70-71 Dusters are worth more than a 72 but these are still bringing decent money. Inflation has hit us all though. This car could bring close to $30,000 if it were an original 340 model. The real cost to "restore" them is body and paint. Material costs are double what they were in 2020. Try to find someone that is willing to do the work, too.
This car may bring $15,000-$20,000. It surprises me that the values have shot up so much.

As it sits now, the paint shines but needs repair. The car runs, drives and stops but the front suspension needs work. The interior has yet to be done too.
I don't know what a realistic value is as it is right now, maybe $8000?

Yep, and I didn't have to marry them to get them to stick around.

QuoteRemember when you had the respect of others?

Yep, still do, but you're not one of the "others". Respect is earned.

QuoteRemember when you used to be able to walk 100 feet without stopping to rest?

Your day will come, sweetie.  :smilielol:

QuoteRemember when you used to actually work on these cars?

Still do...getting ready to change brake pads on my Crossfire.

Back on topic, now that the weather has cooled, I've had time to do a few projects and get back to helping my buddy with his '33 Willys project. First pic is what we started with and progress over time. It's powered by a 500 inch BB Mopar with 440 Source stroker, 727 and Fab 9 rear end. Doors and windows have been installed since last pics and the interior finished in gray leather.

My contribution is the engine block, transmission, rear end and the wiring.Johns.jpgAssembled (Part) (Medium).JPG094.jpg089.jpg095.jpgElec. Panel (Medium).JPG091.jpg096.jpg

that looks like a really cool project, a buddy is prepping to do like a 39 jag kit car, and its a fascinating and completely different design from anything im used to seeing.
