The '69 Charger bucket seat headrests are supposed to be adjustable, right? :shruggy:

Mine are stuck, I've pushed and pulled and...nothing.

Is there a trick to this or something?

I have not yet ruled out my port-a-power.

Why not post in the interior forum?

I'm not wrong, Lipshitz. If you are not smart enough to post in the right forum, maybe you shouldn't be driving.

I'm not sure what Lipshitz means, I think it's an old Jewish family name?  :shruggy:

I'm not Jewish, so...

I do know that you've done an excellent job of stinking this place up with all of your asinine posts, almost pornographic photos of surgically altered, possibly underaged girls, political bullshit, constant abuse of other members (Including several threats of physical violence) and never ending memes.

As far as I know, you are not a moderator here or on any other Mopar board that you constantly attempt to show your ass on.

You are not in charge, here or anywhere else.

You sir, are nothing more than an attention whore.

With that,

I politely invite you to Go Fuck yourself.

Navigating this forum is simple, yet you failed at doing so.
That is your mistake, not mine.
I've tried to stoke some action on this forum in ways that some may appreciate while others may not. Guess what? That is how things are in this world. The easily offended are treated as if their complaints have value. They don't. To pacify the whiners is to empower them. No sane person would support coddling the whiners.
The forum needs people to contribute more. Some members are trying to help. If you looked at the tech sections, you'd see where several topics have been started by other members including myself.
Once your contributions exceed your complaints, your voice will have merit.

The site moderators sure has heck need to stop pacifying you when you forget your meds. If you don't know how the headrests of a 69 adjust leave a simple, "I don't know. Hopefully, someone does" and move on.

Kern Dog

Brilliant....call out the guy that is correct and befriend the ones that does it wrong.
If the moderators came around more, one of them would have moved this to the right forum anyway.
It is sad to see such ineptitude among the remaining members. One guy posts a mind numbing simple question in the wrong forum and gets defensive when called on it, and another one defends the guy that screwed up.
This is how you operate? You realize that is totally backwards, right?

Apparently, stuck headrests are a fairly common occurrence:

I guess they get seized in place after not being moved for decades.

As suggested in the links above, I've sprayed some PB Blaster on the shafts.

I'll let it soak in over night, and give it a quick jerk tomorrow.

Be careful! I once pulled so hard on a stuck headrest and when it came out I tore my headliner! WINGNUT

Thanks for the tip, Pete.

That won't be a problem, the seat is out of the car. :coolgleamA:

Update...I got it. :icon_smile_big:

I took the bezel screws off so I could get to the shafts, sprayed PB blaster down the shafts, propped the seat back upright so the PB could do it's thing overnight. I came out this morning and gave the headrest a couple of quick jerks upwards and it came out. :2thumbs: The shafts aren't even very corroded at all,a little dirty maybe. I'm going to clean it up a little and put some light oil on it before I stick it back in. :coolgleamA:

like Wingnut 426 said  be careful pulling up the headrest

will add  what / how to pull out  seized / jammed in headrests or just adjust . might help other members that have run into this problem .they should move up & down quite freely with a bit of resistance & can remove with a bit of effort , but they do can get seized in or stuck fast best to do this with the seat bolted in the car & a heavy person sitting  in it,  then see pictures below
also if you can remove the chrome headrest post bezel screws , be carefull not to damage the plastic spacer locator things thats under the seat cover . by removing the chrome bezel screws gives a bit more movement to the head rest posts, over time or idiot past owners  they can get bent out of alignment & or too wide a distance between posts , but can be falsed  in to the seat,
usless bit of info  there are a few different types of head rest posts , both posts same length , one couple inches longer & that part half round , both same length but one half round at bottom , also different notch location  forget what else  :scratchchin:

but the headrests look identical never really looked into whats what  ,one style must be for a bench or something also rsz_1screenshot_431.jpg

Thanks, Tan Top.

You've done an excellent job of illustrating the solution to this problem. :2thumbs:
