Oil pan drain plug

My oil pan drain plug does not have a separate coper washer, It looks like the plug has an in built washer made into it is this normal pretty sure its original 440 engine,

Sorted it out the washer was so well worn it looked like a part of the drain plug strange it was made of metal. I will fit a 1/2 innh coper one.

I'm not a big fan of solid copper washers, they're less forgiving of surface irregularities. The original drain plug washer is a crush washer.
